Chapter 2

*Scott's POV*

I sat at the lunch table listening to Kirstie's latest gossip story.

"He didn't even really like me! He just wanted to get in my pants..." Kirstie looked away at the last few words. I felt bad for her, she had really liked the guy. It looked like they were going to go to prom together, too. I extend my hand and set it on top of hers. She looked up at me, anger and pain filled her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Kirst."

"Ah, well. I-" she was interrupted by Mitch hugging her shoulders. I assumed he'd already heard the story. He sat down at the table, next to her and across from me. He took a fry from my plate and devoured it. I glared at him, he always had to take my food. He caught the glare and gave me an innocent smile. I couldn't help but smile back.

Mitch Grassi and I haven't been friends for long, just since this school year. He had stood up for me one day, when some kid was making fun of my shyness. Asking me to speak up. He told the kid to mind his own business and he hasn't bothered me since. Then we just kinda hit it off.

"We can all go out tonight to get your mind off of things, if you want, babe?" Mitch awakened me from the flashback. He had aimed the question at Kirstie then looked over at me. Kirstie and I nodded simultaneously. That was another interesting thing about him, he had millions of pet names for everyone.

The bell rang and I got up zombie like and threw my trash away. I was looking forward to going out tonight. Mostly because Mitch Grassi was a fun character to be around.

**

I drove my car up to the mall with Kirstie and Mitch jamming out to a random rap song none of us knew. I tried keeping my eyes on the road but they were so distracting, I couldn't help but look over at them a couple times.

"Could you guys bring it down a notch?" I yelled over the loud speaker.

"WHAT?" They both screamed back. I couldn't help but laugh. It was a good thing we arrived at the mall anyway.

I parked and immediately Mitch ran out, holding Kirstie's hand, pulling her to one of the many entrances.

Sometimes I wondered if they had something together.

I felt my heart drop just a bit at the questionable thought.

I pulled into Mitch Grassi's drive way. I had already dropped off Kirstie, she was practically falling asleep in the car. We all had a long, fun filled night, all because of him.

"I'm still going to find you someone to go with, for prom," Mitch said through my door's open window. I sighed.

"I'm not going," he smirked at my statement.

"Whatever. Goodnight, Scotty," he ruffled my hair before turning away to go into his house. I was blushing, any contact at all I had with Mitch Grassi made my skin burn.
