Thirty-Eight

The week has flown by and Amari spent a few days at home to rest up. Shouyu came by the house and told her parents about the pregnancy. Terryn fangirled for hours as Nahm had a talk with the two before finding out the full truth and hugging Shouyu telling him how impressed he was at the young man stepping up in that manner. Zhang pulls up in his smoke gray 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. He jogs around to the other side of the car and opens the door helping Reina out the car like a gentleman.

Reina smiles at him and kisses him on the lips.

They turn around as Jai pulls up in his customized H3 Hummer. He helps Keiri get out of the truck and they greet their friends.

They notice that Riku and Shouyu are already there recognizing their cars. Zhang chuckles catching everyone's attention. "What's so funny Z?" Jai asks.

Zhang looks up, "You realize that this is the first time all of us have girlfriends and boyfriends for homecoming?"

They all nod and laugh with him. Jai looks at Zhang and locks eyes with his sister silently thanking her for changing the once cold hearted Nakamura.

They walk into the school and locate Riku and Ireno talking to Ezra as she models Riku's #19 jersey. Riku sees the gang and waves. "Sup guys. Looking good ladies." he says pointing at the jerseys they have on. Reina giggles and Keiri strikes a pose with Ezra. Jai looks at Ireno. "Why don't you find someone to give your jersey too."

He scoffs, "Like who? Everyone in the school hates me."

Zhang adds, "Well your brother is the biggest asshole here. So..." Reina slaps his arm stopping him from talking. Ireno rolls his eyes before he is tapped on the shoulder. He turns around, "Hey Latin. What's up?"

"Nothing. Just need you to make sure we got your info correct on the data sheet." she says.

Reina snatches his jersey. "Hey Latin. Would you like to wear Ireno's jersey?" Keiri and Ezra squeal in glee. Latin blushes, "Uh...um...wouldn't everyone think I'm his girlfriend though?" Ireno sighs, "Just tell them we're just friends." Latin feels bad and takes the jersey anyway. She puts it on and has trouble getting it over her head. Ireno helps her out and once she's done she moves some loose strands of hair out of her face looking up into his crimson orbs.

"T-t-thank y-you."

"Oh!" he steps backs, "You're welcome."

Zhang whispers, "Smooth. REEEAL smooth." causing Reina to elbow him in the gut again. "Come on Reina. If you keep hitting me, I won't be able to play tonight."

She jams a finger in his face. "Then stop being such a dick."

"But I'm Zhang. That's kind of my nature."

She looks at the others who all shrug and nod in agreement. The bell rings and everyone heads to their homerooms. Ireno tells them he'll see them later and walks with Latin towards their homeroom class.

The gang walks in and takes their seats noticing that Shouyu is still missing. After the warning bell sounds, the door bursts open and in runs Shouyu obviously out of breath. "Sorry...huff...Jinzo...huff...sensei." He hands him the excuse he got from the nurse's office via Ino. Jinzo reads the note and looks wide eyed at Shouyu who gives him a pleading look not to say anything.

Shouyu takes his seat and greets everyone.

"Where's Amari loverboy?" Jai asks with Riku and everyone else looking at him. But before Shouyu can answer him and loud banshee like shrill fills the classroom followed by other screams of shock. Everyone looks up and sees Kaira and other girls staring at the door.
