The bell rang for lunch, Ross and I started towards the door, followed by all his friends. "They never walk with me to class," Ross whispered, making me laugh. "Don't believe what he tells you," One of the boys interrupted, "We could tell the same stories about him." Ross turned around and glared. "So, you've been following me around all day, but I don't even know any of your names."

"Alright.. alright.. so the one that keeps trying to hit on you is Griffin." He looked at me and winked as Ross introduced him. "This is Brandon," He pointed to a tall boy with a letterman jacket. "And.. this is Lowell," He pointed to a small boy that I really couldn't imagine Ross being friends with. He seemed shy and conservative. As soon as Ross introduced him, he immediately went off. He was a completely different person as he talked and talked. I didn't find it annoying, in some odd way.. I found it comforting, in a sea of newness, something that reminded me of home.

"I'm gonna go meet up with Dells and the boys so you guys don't have to babysit me anymore." Ross grabbed my hand as I started to walk away. "I'll come with you." I shook my head, "Eat lunch with your friends, just come get me before we leave lunch." He didn't move. "Go ahead." I moved my hands to shoo him away. "Why don't you just eat lunch with us?" Griffin interjected. "That's very sweet of you, but I wouldn't wanna intrude."

"I wouldn't have asked if we didn't want you there." Ross nodded as well. "Come on Laur." I laughed, "Sorry, boys, I gotta go to Ross' sister and gossip about you." I giggled as I began to walk away into the cafeteria to find the others.

"Laura!" I turned as a voice called after me, quickly turning back as I saw his face. "Can we just talk please?" I shook my head and continued to walk. "Just hear me out." He grabbed my wrist, turning me around. "Wyatt, let me go." He shook his head. "You won't listen to me." He squeezed my wrist tighter. "Get off me." I tried to push him off, but he only held me tighter. The boys turned around, Ross ran to my side.

"She said to get off." He pushed Wyatt to the floor and pulled me into a hug. Wyatt stayed on the floor as the a teacher came down the hall. I wiped my tears as she got closer. "What's going on here?" Wyatt stood up. "He wouldn't let go of me." Ross held out my wrist and pulled up my sleeve, showing the nail marks. "So I got him off of her," Ross finished.

"Won't happen again, I just wanted to talk and I got a little carried away," Wyatt responded. "I'll have to involve the principal next time, control yourself Mr. Halliwell. Get to class.. all of you." She walked back the other way and I waited for her to get inside her classroom before I spoke to Wyatt.

"I only transferred schools to get away from you. Let's just pretend we don't know each other." He protested, "I know, I got one of your little friends to tell me where you were switching to. I love you, I can't just pretend I don't know you." I scoffed, "Get over it, the feeling isn't mutual and hasn't been since you cheated on me with 'one of my little friends.' You know what? I'm glad you cheated, it gave me a good reason to get away from you and gain back the shred of dignity I had left. Don't touch me ever again, I'm done letting you hit me and walk all over me. So get the fuck off of me and stay the fuck away because I'm done taking your shit."

I pushed him further away and started to walk behind the boys. "Is there any way we can pretend that those last 5 minutes didn't just happen?" Ross touched my back, "I didn't know."

"I didn't want anyone to know, but I just really needed to do that." I started to walk into the cafeteria, "Don't tell them." He guided me to their usual table. "I think you should tell them, maybe someone can give you some better advice than I can." I nodded slowly.

Riker noticed the tension and the difference in my demeanor as I came back with Ross after buying my food. "What's going on between you two?" I shook my head, "Nothing." I laid my hand on the table, my sleeve was rolled up. I had completely forgotten about the nail marks from Wyatt by that time. Riker glanced over. I quickly pulled down my sleeve, but he was already alerting the others, "What was that?" I bit my lip, "I got into a little altercation with Wyatt outside."

"He did that?" I nodded, "Ross took care of it and he suggested that I tell you all because I can't handle it by myself anymore. Ross said that I didn't have to.. I have you guys now." They all nodded as I continued, "Wyatt didn't just cheat on me. He was mean, ruthless, and abusive way before that. I never told anyone, so everyone just thought he was the perfect boyfriend. He began cheating on me with my friend and I finally had an excuse to get out of the situation without leaving Wyatt alone. I know it was selfish for me to put this situation on her, but I was mad. She was sleeping with my boyfriend. I just wanted to get away at all costs." I immediately looked down, feeling selfish and completely absorbed by my own thoughts. I would not look up at them.

"Look at me, this isn't your fault. He is a sick bastard. You didn't deserve this, alright?"
