Chapter 40

Maia P.O.V.

"You do not have that right! You can not say that! You knew I had Laura! You knew I loved her!" A small tear fell down from my cheek onto his hand. "Yeah Ross, well I thought you loved me," I turned, walking away, only to be pulled back into his arms, into a kiss. I was taken by surprise and I think he was too.

We pulled back, he was breathing heavy. "I'm sorry, I just needed to know." He let go of me. "Know what," I questioned. "I needed to know whether or not my feelings would change. I needed to know whether or not I chose the right girl, whether or not I chose the right path."

"And?" I could feel my eyes tearing up, I tried my best to hold back the tears. I didn't want him to feel sorry for me, to change his mind because I was crying. He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "I'm in love with her, with Laura, not you, Maia. I always will be in love with her."

I pushed out of his arms and continued walking away. Walking further and further from him, from the only guaranteed thing in my life, from the only guy I ever loved. The real truth that I discovered tonight is that I have no one here in Los Angeles, no one would miss me if I was gone, if I just disappeared. Ross doesn't love me anymore, Laura hates my guts, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the Lynch family hates me too. Maybe I should just forget about all of this, forget about him, forget about love, forget about life..

Ross P.O.V.

A few days later

"You told her?" Rydel hesitated before nodding. "I'm sorry! I thought she should know, I mean she is your girlfriend!" I ran my hands threw my hair. "It was before we were back together! I just wanted to be certain, I wanted to make sure I had no feelings for Maia whatsoever! I wanted to be fully committed to Laura because I love her! I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I wasn't committed to her and only her!"

I was nervous. What would Laura think? Is she going to dump me again? I can't lose her all over again. Laura came out of nowhere, running into my arms. "Laura I'm-" She squeezed me tighter. "I understand, relax... I'm not mad, now that I think about it, I'm actually glad you did." I was puzzled. "At least now I know for a fact that you are totally and fully committed to me."

I smiled, resting my head on top of hers. "I love you, Laura." I wrapped my arms around her, not intending on letting go. "I love you too, babe." She leaned up and kissed my cheek. "I love you, Laura," Rydel mocked us, putting her hand over her heart and falling on the couch. Laura laughed. "You're just jealous," I said.

Rydel looked down, Laura leaned over, letting go of me and grabbing Rydel's hand with hers. "I'm sorry that you and Ell broke up, Dells." She breathed deeply. "Me too, but we decided it was best for the band. If we ever got angry at each other or fought with one another, everything would be out of control and messed up."

"You guys were my otp," Laura frowned. "Otp," I questioned, wondering what the hell it meant. "Yes, otp: one true pairing," Rydel explained. "Like me and my baby girl right here," I said wrapping my arms around Laura's waist from behind. Rydel giggled, taking a picture of me kissing Laura's cheek.

Seconds later, I heard my phone beep. I looked down. Rydel had posted the picture on twitter, there were already loads of comments. Most of them said things about "Raura" or about how cute we looked. I smiled, finally being able to tweet about my girl, about how much I love her.
