Chapter 13

Laura P.O.V.

"I think that's from the place Travis took me to on my birthday every year and on our first date..." Rocky looked at me. "No Travis isn't like that. I trust him with my life, he wouldn't do something like this." Rocky nodded. "Were you dating Travis before your sister went missing?" I shook my head. "Right after was when we started dating. He comforted me and made me feel so special."

"Travis did this." I couldn't believe what Rocky was saying. He was accusing my ex of kidnapping my sister. "NO! ROCKY YOU ARE WRONG!" He shook his head. "Travis was there for me when no one else was. He made me feel like I was the only girl in the world. I was special to him. We loved each other." Rocky just stood there shaking his head. "Laura, can't you see what's right in front of your face?" Where was he going with this? "LAURA! TRAVIS OBVIOUSLY GOT CLOSE TO YOU TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU COULD TRUST HIM, BUT YOU CAN'T!" I had enough.

"YOU KNOW WHAT, ROCKY? IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE JUST LIKED ME? IS IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT MAYBE HE GOT CLOSE TO ME BECAUSE HE THAT'S WHAT HE WANTED?" Rocky shook his head. "No, Laura, that's not what I meant." I started to walk towards the door. If he wasn't going to leave, then I was. "Laura." Rocky grabbed my arm. "I heard what you had to say, I know what you mean." I pushed his arm off. "You can't take any of it back, it's too late."

I walked outside. Rocky started to follow me. I sort of regretted what I said. He was just trying to help. "LAURA, WAIT!" I stopped. I guess I was waiting for an apology. "Laura, I know you don't want to heard this, but it's true. I think Travis-" I put my hand over his mouth. That was it. I was about to explode, I could just feel it now. "TRAVIS WAS MY FIRST BOYFRIEND! MY FIRST KISS AND MY FIRST DATE! TRAVIS MADE ME FEEL LIKE I COULD DO ANYTHING! TRAVIS LOVED ME AND I LOVED HIM! I TRUST HIM AND I KNOW HE WOULDN'T DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I KNOW HIM BETTER THAN YOU DO! I THINK YOU NEED TO STOP POKING AROUND IN MY LIFE! YOU'RE JUST TRYING TO HELP, I GET IT! IF I WANT YOUR HELP I'LL ASK FOR IT! FOR NOW, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" I pushed Rocky away from me and kept walking.

I decided to walk to the park. I heard a tree branch break and I turned quickly. Then I heard footsteps. Glass shattered. "R-Rocky?" No answer. "R-Rocky? This isn't funny, answer me." The footsteps came closer as a black shadowed figure turned to face me. "I think it's funny." I started to run. This can't be happening. I've never been here before and I don't know my way back to the house. "Leave me alone."

"Laura." That voice. Where have I heard it before? "Nice to see you again." I listened closely to the voice, trying to figure out who it was. "It's me." The figure pulled down his hood and I saw his face. "I thought I would never see you again." He chuckled softly and came closer. "When I make a promise, I keep it..."
