In the begining, it was him that ran from me.
But now I was the one running.

I must have looked an awfully strange sight, dress hitched up, running across the ball room. Either side of the large stairs where two passages, I went left, my high heeled feet clicking against the marble.

I felt the urge to find Hades, so that I could hide behind him and his title. What had I become?
Hades had made a coward out of me.

I stopped running, pressing my back against the wall as I rounded yet another corner, my heart thundering in my throat. These passages were a maze.

A maze that he knew like the back of his hand.
Footsteps echoed the halls, walking not running. He was in no rush to find me because he knew that eventually, he would find my either way. I couldn't run forever.

I turned to glance round the corner I had came from, nothing. The footsteps had stopped completely now.

I sighed in relief, but almost screamed when I turned back to see a pair of vivid blue eyes staring at me in amusement, a sly smirk on his perfectly sculpted lips that I hadn't touched in so long. Too long.

My breath seemingly caught in my throat, and my lungs ceased to breath, my body ceased to function. I was rendered useless, staring at him with wide fearful eyes.

"Long time no see, Amelia." He smirked, he had not changed one bit. Then it all came flooding back, he left me. He abandoned me. He never told me about the Lycanthrope world. That he was one of them, one of us.

I shoved at his chest hard and he stumbled back slightly, surprised by my sudden anger. "What the fuck Marus!"

"Woah, calm it." He grabbed my hands, pinning them easily by my sides, "Aren't you pleased to see me?"

"Are you fucking serious!" I yelled, desperately trying to free my hands so I could rake them across his stupid face. "You left me! You left me with them!"

His face fell and contorted into one of horror, "Amelia you have to understand that I would never have left you unless I had no choice, right?...right?" He seemed so unsure, not the calm and collected Marus I had always known before all this.

"I prefer the sound of silence over bullshit Marus." I snarled, yanking my hands free and turning to leave, but he grabbed me. He shoved me up against the wall, holding my arms either side of me.

"You have to believe me!" He said, scanning my eyes for something, anything. "I couldn't go through the change at the asylum. You're a smart girl Amelia, you can imagine what would have happened if I did!"

"You still never told me about any of this! I told you everything Marus, everything!" The words flew out of my mouth before I could stop them. "I..I loved you!"

"Amelia, please-"

"It's too late now."

My eyes flew open in shock when his lips crashed against mine, the old taste of strawberry's that I had missed so much.

I didn't kiss him back at first, but before long I found my lips instinctively pressing against his with a strange type of hunger I had never known before. room and I couldn't help the shiver that ran over my body. There was that familiar gentleness with him, he treated me like a glass that may shatter into a thousand pieces at any given moment, I hated that about him, I never had to worry about Hades treating me so carefully, there was nothing gentle about him. From the way that he kissed me, to the way that he fucked me. Marus pressed his body against mine, and I dove at his mouth. All the time away from each other had turned the heat down, but with one kiss, it came roaring back. His hands grabbed me but before things could go any further I shoved him away from me. "Stop," I said breathily, "We can't do this, not here, not now."

"Why not." He said against my skin, his lips sucking and gently biting my neck.

"Because, I have a mate..."

He froze, "Who?"

"The Alpha of Black Thorn." I said, wringing my hands in my lap.

He pulled away, dragging a palm down his face. "Shit, Hades."

"You know him?"

"Long story, look Amelia I have to go, Rosali- I mean.. someone is waiting for me."

He left.
He always left.
Leaving me alone and confused in the hall.

My fingers pressed against my lips, where he had been only moments ago, and the slight taste on him still lingered.

A dreadful feeling of guilt knotted itself in the pit of my stomach. This was a mistake. I shouldn't have come here.

I began walking back down the maze of passages in the direction that I had came from in a bid to make my way back to the ball.
I glanced at a golden clock that hung alone on the wall as I passed.

11:30

Only half an hour till I would never have to see that white haired boy with the perfect pink lips and snakes tongue ever again.

The passage soon came to an end and the sound of distant chatter soon became almost deafening.
There weren't as many people as there were before.

"Amelia, where have you been!" An annoying voice chirped from behind me. "Hades has been worried sick!"

I held back a snort and put my best smile on before turning around to face the pregnant Luna.

"Do you know where he is now?" I asked, playing with a strand of raven hair.

Her eyes lingered for a moment too long on my neck before she pointed me in the direction of Hades' brooding silhouette.

I didn't need a mirror to know what she was looking at, I unfastened my hair, letting it hang down, covering the deep red marks on my neck before approaching my mate.
