"What the fuck is going on here?" I roared

"What the fuck is going on here?" I roared. The raven haired girl visibly stiffened, even if it was just for a moment.

Several of the pack members gasped, bowing and looking down at the floor in submission.

My Beta stood up from the floor, brushing the last flecks of dirt from his clothes.
They had been fighting.
His eyes widened as they met mine, he wasn't expecting me back so soon. None of them were. He straitened himself up before he spoke.

"Alpha." He sounded shocked.

The dark haired girl slowly turned. It was then that I saw her eyes. Rich, lambent green eyes.

My wolf bellowed and thrashed somewhere deep within me. She was his. She was ours.

'Mate.' He growled, clawing at the surface.

He was stunning.

Her dark brooding eyes were what first caught my attention, something about them enticed me. Holding me captive in her hateful glare.
What terrible things had happened to this girl to make her so full of hate?

Her long dark hair, was pulled into a messy ponytail, but even so it fell all the way down to the small of her back. The beast within me howled at the thought of fisting her hair whilst he thrust himself inside of her.

Everything about her was...There wasn't a word for it. Her legs, her body, her everything. Just the way I had imagined her to be.

Though she held a murderous countenance, beneath it all she was truly eye catching. Beautiful.

I withheld the urge to fun to her, to take her in my arms and hide her away from the rest of the world. It wouldn't do the pack good to see there Alpha in such a vulnerable state. Atleast, that was until she spoke.

"Alpha." She spat, with such venom I couldn't believe she held all that hate within such a slender frame. She narrowed her eyes at me.

But even so I couldn't help the words that left my lips.

"Mine."

***

The person before me.
Once a girl so full of anger and hate; was now a woman, a leader so strong and fierce.

A force to be reckoned with.

She had grown from a child, one with an attitude so vile and a tongue that soar venom. She was ready to be a Luna. My Luna.

At least she would have been. Except I knew.
I knew what she had been doing behind my back with another.

The night of the ball, she was with another Alpha. His scent was suffocating; and as soon as I found him, I would kill him.

We sat around the large wooden table, I watched as her eyes flashed with something almost golden that I couldn't quite trace. She was frustrated. The other Alphas wouldn't let her speak. They didn't want to hear from a female, let alone one like her. Her lover was here, I could sense it in the stiffness if her bones. But she knew that I knew, she wouldn't show any hint of who she was. She was smart, she wouldn't even glance in his direction. It was all to protect him.

The one that she loved over her own mate.

"People will die." Kaden stated grimly. "That is the price of war. However, we can minimise casualties as much as possible by each pack donating more wolves towards the cause."

"So you're saying you want our men to die in place of your own? Our families, our packs?" Sneered the man with the bulbous nose and curly brown hair. Alpha Hall. A dull and miserable man in his late forties.

"Not at all Alpha." Arden cut in, she was the calm in Kaden's life. "Some men will die, of course, this cannot be avoided. However the more wolves we have on our side, the better. We can get in, overpower them and get back out as quickly as possible. The more men the more painless the was will be." She drawled. "However Alpha, I can promise you that if people such as yourself don't send wolves; the blood of innocent men, women and children will be spilt on Grey soil. The Druid's would win easily against smaller packs due to their sheer size."

The man fell silent.

"Glad that's solved." Kaden said sarcastically, glaring at Alpha Hall. "I suggest two hundred and fifty men each, anyone who opposes this, speak now or forever hold your peace."

There were a few mumbled between Alphas but otherwise no one spoke out.

"It's settled then. What's next?"

"I think that the women should leave for this next part, they should not be present for talks of war and tactics when they do not understand such things."

"What a load of bullshit." Amelia scoffed, raising her lip to the Alpha that spoke out, Alpha Jackson of the Blue Storm pack.

"Excuse me?" He snapped, obviously shocked by her outburst. I however was not surprised, she could never keep her mouth shut.

"Watch it. Do you want to start a war." I growled, low enough so that only she could hear. Grabbing her hand under the table and gripping it harder than I probably should have.

"Stay out of it Hades." She hissed, before she spoke up again to Jackson. "Some women in this room can fight better than you and your men combined."

Jackson let out a humourless laugh. "Little girl, I suggest that you watch yours tongue if you want to keep it."

"Bite me." She sneered.

Jackson sprang to his feet with a sound of his chair hitting the floor. He bore his teeth and growled at the fearless woman.
But she stood her ground, neither relenting nor submitting. I came to my feet too, I wouldn't let him touch her, no matter how much I resented her.

"Are you challenging me...Alpha?" She spat the title like it was a curse, tilting her head ever so slightly. Maybe she hadn't changed, she was reverting back to her own ways. These past few days she had only been that way through the guilt of her infidelity.

"Are you accepting my challenge?" He snarled, a flash of glinting white teeth.

"I am."
