Chapter 23- Wake up please!

Gray POV

Patience is not my best virtue, especially not when two pubescent teenage girls are making the wait even more unbearable. Levy and Lucy sit on opposite sides of the room to each other and occasionally give each other the death stare. It's really starting to piss me off now and I wish they would just get over themselves.

What I really want to know right now though is why was Juvia crying? Levy had told me about everything and it just didn't sound like Juvia. It was way too hormonal for her to do so what ever made her cry like that must be pretty bad.

"Has there been any signs of consciousness from Miss Lockser?" Says a nurse as she gently opens the door and walks over to the other side of Juvia's bed. She grabs some of Juvia's paperwork and examines it carefully.

"Ah no nothing yet" I say quietly. It's as if I don't want to wake her but I know that no matter how much noise I make, she will wake up when the time is right.

"Well shouldn't be long now. Call me when she awakens" The nurse smiles to me and i nod my head in agreement. She then leaves and shuts the door behind her.

The silence continues in the room with none of us boys wanting to start a conversation because we are afraid we will set off the girls again. To be honest, I would just like to spend time in here with Juvia alone.

"Hey....um....do you guys mind giving me a minute with Juvia alone?" I ask not letting my eyes travel away from Juvia. None of them say anything, they just respectfully leave the room without question. The room becomes calm now that those two drama queens are gone.

"Juvia, I know that you probably can't hear me but if you can please try your best to listen. Juvia, I know you're ok but please wake up so I can finally get it through my head. I'm worried about you, you know? I would really like to see your smile and hear your voice too. Both so sweet. Also what ever made you cry, I'll help you get rid of it, I promise. You just have to wake up for me."

-Days later-

Juvia should have woken up the day after the accident at the latest but she still unconsciously lays on her bed. The doctors are worried there might be extra damage that they haven't quite yet been able to see. They now don't have a clue when she'll wake up now. It kind of scares me a bit.

The others come in every now and then to check up on me. I can't bring myself to leave Juvia's side. Her parents have showed up once on the day of the accident but I haven't seen them since. They are busy people but when your daughter has been in an accident i'm sure you can put it aside for awhile.

There are only two days left of school holidays and at this rate I won't be going back, even if Juvia wakes up fine. I'll stay here as long as she does. No matter wh-

"Ow my head" A small voice says from the bed next to me. Juvia. My eyes dart to her and she slowly opens her eyes and moves her hands to her head in pain.

"Juvia you're ok" I rush to the door and yell to the nurse that she is awake and then rush back to her side.

"Juvia you had me worried. I thought you weren't going to wake up" I say to her. Her eyes shift to me and I notice somewhat of an emptiness inside them. My smile some what starts to fade. "Juvia you are ok. Right?"

"I'm sorry but do I know you?" My heart drops and I fall to my knees beside her bed. She doesn't remember, she lost her memory.

"Whoo what's wrong?" She doesn't talk while saying her first name at the start anyone more. Tears begin to roll down my face. The nurse finally walks in to examine Juvia while I stay on the floor.

"Hello miss, do you remember your name?" The nurse says softly.

"Juvia Lockser" She responds confidently. It's as if nothing happened between us and this year so far didn't even happen. "Um, who is this?" She asks to the nurse in a whisper.

"That's your boyfriend. His name is Gray Fullbuster. Do you have any memory of him?" The nurse doesn't whisper this response may be wanting me to hear the answer but to be honest it won't be what I want and it'll be too hurtful.

"Gray? Oh aren't you the guy that goes to my school? The stripper guy right?"

"Yes" I respond hoping that she is getting somewhere with this.

"Oh. I'm sorry but I don't remember ever meeting you properly. Nice to meet you Gray Fullbuster"
