Chapter 40 - Catch up

Hey minna happy 40th chapter. It has been so great writing this book for you guys and i am so thankful of all the support you have given me. I can't see there being many more chapters sadly but that also means i will be focussing on my other books on here. Erza POV

Jellal and I talked about our relationship and I wasn't really happy with his response. He practically said that we were better off keeping in secret for his career sake and that ever though he loved me he would always put his career first. I think I may have overreacted by breaking up with him but......I need to have a proper relationship and not one hidden behind closed doors. So I've been the single one I'm the group.

Juvia finally got to leave the hospital after returning to her normal, stable self except less obsessed over Gray. After Gray admitted to being Bi he seems more open about everything and less uptight. Their relationship is going really well.

Natsu ended up begging for my forgiveness because of his outburst at the hospital. I accepted as well as apologizing myself for not being fully supportive of the engagement. He also ended up telling all of us about his daddy problems. Now both him and Lucy spend time with Igneel every now and then. Lucy is also glad to have both fathers blessing on the wedding, it doesn't really faze Natsu.

Levy and Gajeel are still going strong. No one really understood how they got together even after Gajeel tried to explain it. Levy still doesn't understand either. They are the definition of the saying 'Opposites Attract' though because they couldn't be anymore different or anymore perfect for each other.

Many months had passed since Juvia's accident and the end of the year was closing in on us. We had our last exams, universities to chose from and the year 12 Prom. Us seniors were constantly busy but we still managed to keep our social lives intact.

On a side note, Miss Strauss announced she was adopting a child over the Christmas holidays. I thought she would get married first but I still showed as much support as possible. Good for her.

Not a day passed by that I didn't think of Jellal. I had to give up martial arts temporarily for studying sake so I really never saw him. I always wonder if my decision to no longer date he was a good one but I've got better things to worry about.

"Hey Erza, you doing alright there? You seem a bit quiet" Lucy politely and worriedly says grabbing my attention. Since I sat at the lunch table I hadn't bothered to eat any food but play with it and get lost in my thoughts.

"Ah yeah I guess" I simply say not really wanting to go into too much detail.

"OK, well I'm here if you need someone to talk to" Lucy gives me a reassuring smile which I return. Then I go back to getting lost in my thoughts which has become a bad habit as of lately.

"Oh come on shrimp don't be like that" Gajeel says as Levy stands up from our lunch table and furiously storms off.

"What's wrong?" I ask giving Gajeel that look that I know makes peoples skin crawl.

"She is upset because I won't romantically ask her to the prom like the characters in her dumb books. I don't even need to ask he anyway because we're already dating so I don't know what the big problem is"He stupidly replies.

Juvia and I give an are you really that stupid look while Lucy slaps her face against her palm. "What?" Gajeel asks as he is still confused by what's going on.

"Its too hard to explain just try and figure it out yourself but first go tall to Levy" I suggest after realising I don't have the patience to explain a woman's feelings to a guy. Its probably a one way street to no where anyway.

"Fine" Gajeel impatiently gets up from the table and heads off in the direction Levy went. I'm not religious but lord help that boy.

Levy POV

How can he be so stupid? Dumb imagination my ass. Natsu is planning something really sweet for Lucy and the same with Gray for Juvia. Why is it that if I ask for this simple gesture I'm asking for too much? Gajeel is such a....such an idiot.

After storming off I ended up near the English block. I pace back and forwards as my mind continues to fill with hateful thoughts. I thought he was perfect for me.

I go to turn to continue on pacing when I run into someone. "I'm so sorry" I quickly respond on instinct.

"You're forgiven" Gajeel looks down at me with a small smirk on his face. I then curse in my head and continue walking to a new location.

"Shrimp wait" Gajeel calls after me. I turn hoping for something exciting and special but no. Judging by the look on his face he has no idea what to say next.

"Well get on with it" I impatiently try to hurry him up. I really don't have all day. So instead of responding with words he kisses me.

"That's all I got" Gajeel says after we have pulled away.

"Pathetic" I say and continue walking in the opposite direction leaving Gajeel shocked.

"Look I'm sorry, please shrimp just tell me what's wrong" Gajeel desperately tries to stop me.

I turn and look at him letting it all go. "Am I not allowed to live out a fantasy? Can't I have a boyfriend to surprise me and fulfill my wildest dreams? Can't I have a perfect ending to senior year? Well I'm sorry that I ask for too much"

"Levy look I really am sorry, I'll make it up to you I promise"

"Well then show me, until then you aren't forgiven"
