Happy birthday to Connor Murphy on this fine April 20th. Because today's his birthday right?

"Do you know what day it is, Connie?" Evan rested his head in his hands, leaning over the counter.

"Well, it's national weed day, which actually reminds me..." Connor turned around to go back to his bedroom.

"Connor, no! I swear, if you didn't know it was your own birthday..." Evan facepalmed.

"Oh yeah...that too," Connor nodded, waving his finger as a walked out of the kitchen. Of course, he was happy it was his birthday, but he hated that all of the attention was pointed at him. He hated that it was another year he was alive, and that he had to wait another whole year for this day to show up again. He hated the concept of the birthday party, which his mom had forced him to have until he was 13.

Evan scurried around the table and followed Connor up the stairs where he had buried his face into a pillow on his bed. Evan leaned against a wall, unsure of what else to do. "Connor, I just wanted to-"

"Evan: stop. For the past five birthdays that I can remember I was either high or in rehab. I haven't had the best experience with them," Connor groaned, balling his hands into fists.

"I know and that's why I-"

"No, Evan you don't know. You've probably had all these epic parties and stuff that you look back at and you smile about. But, when I look back at my childhood, I can't even remember a birthday that I actually enjoyed," Connor threw the pillow onto the floor, looking at Evan. "I remember some years my parents would actually pretend that it wasn't my birthday, just because they were so ashamed that I was their child and..."

"Connor, I'm not throwing you a party," Evan said, moving to sit at the foot of the bed.

"And you...what?" Connor sat up next to his boyfriend, his eyes wide.

Evan shrugged, looking at his hands. "I didn't even make you a cake or anything. Trust me, I hate parties just as much as you do. The first and only party my mom ever threw for me ended up with me having a panic attack in the bathroom. So I get what you mean. We don't have to do anything if you dont want to. I totally understand if..."

"Evan, you are the best boyfriend I could ever ask for," Connor breathed and leaned in to peck Evan's lips. Evan couldn't help but smile into the kiss. This was perfect.

Evan had no choice but to pull away when he remembered something. "Oh wait, I did get you a gift, though." He got up and ran out the front door while Connor groaned. He never liked to receive presents, because he always felt bad when the other person didn't have anything to open. While he looked around his room for something to give to Evan, the boy had already come through the door, carrying a very big box with holes punched into it.

Evan set the box in front of where Connor sat. "It's nothing big...well it is big, but it's not that important or anything...er....just open it." Evan shrugged and sat next to Connor, excited to see the other boy's reaction.

Connor carefully opened the flaps of the cardboard box, and pulled out what's looked like...

"You got me a plant," Connor couldn't help but chuckle. Why was he not surprised?

"Actually it's a Pothos, which is a very low maintenance plant and has air purifying qualities, so I thought since your room smells so heavily of weed all the time..." Evan explained and Connor kissed Evan's forehead, muttering a thank you before setting the plant on the windowsill.

"And it's also a cutting from the one I have...in my room?" Evan added. "So we both have the same one."

Connor smiled contently, leaning into Evan's shoulder. "That makes it even better. Thank you."

Evan shrugged, happy that Connor liked it. "So what do you want to do today? I guess since its your birthday you could choose..."

Connor yawned, stretching his arms out. "I think I just wanna sleep, I'm so tired."

"Can we cuddle?" Evan said, a sparkle in his eye.

Connor laughed. "Why wouldn't we?"

They ended up on his bed, Connor stretched out over the length of it with Evan curled in his lap. Evan had passed out as soon as they got comfortable, and Connor instinctively went to play with the other boy's hair and he sighed, smiling.

"Now this is the best birthday ever," Connor whispered to himself, then closed his eyes and drifted off as well.

This was not intended to be written today, I was just really bored. I hoped you liked it though, sorry if it's shitty like the rest of them.
