WITCHY THERAPIST AND PRYING SISTERS

She tossed and turned before she shot up from the bed, waking up from her horrible nightmare. Her eyes were wide open in fear as she scanned the room in case of any danger. She finally relaxed but not for so long as her ears perked up at the sound of sniffling beside her. She turned her head quickly to the direction of the distraught sound, to behold her sister folded up in a ball whimpering.  She scooted close to Kemi before shaking her sister trying to get her attention.
she shook her even more when Kemi still seemed to be in her dazed state this time finally getting a reaction from her. Her sister looked at her with tear stained cheeks before grabbing a hold of her shoulder and pulling her in to a tight hug.

"Anna what's wrong with me? Am I a sort of jinx?" Her voice were muffled by Anna's shoulder. Anna shook her head even when her sister couldn't see her. She held her sister at arms length before wiping her tears. She shook her head telling her sister not to cry. Her chest panged at the sight in front of her,  the blood red eyes of her sister made her own eyes itch. Nothing was wrong with her sister, she knew nothing was wrong with her and she didn't like that a stupid boy made her feel otherwise. She reached for her sister's bedside drawer to grab the notebook and pen she always kept in them. As she did, she also switched on the bedside lamp before furiously writing down not caring one bit that her handwriting had become over the top horrible.
"Anna it's not true, don't sugar coat it. I'm never gonna find love, I'm cursed."
Anna found it absurd that her sister said something like that she took the book and was about to write something to her but the cold hand that wrapped her hand stopped her. She looked up to her sister shaking her head.

Kemi wiped her eyes, not wanting to talk about it anymore she faked a smile.
"It's okay Anna, let's forget about me. Let's talk about you." Anna was very reluctant, seeing as her sister was bothered but she gave in, nodding her head.

"You woke up this late, why?" Kemi seemed relieved that her problem had been dropped. Anna shook her head not willing to answer.
"It's the nightmares isn't it? You still have them?" Anna nodded her head. They never really left. They were an on again off again thing. She was stuck with them.
"Is that why you won't talk?" Anna tensed at that question. She couldn't really remember the last time someone had asked her why she wouldn't talk. It had to be years ago. That stupid therapist that she never liked. She wasn't even sure if the woman was qualified to be a real therapist. Surely she wasn't because her questions were nerve racking, bringing stress and making her want to disappear. She saw the way the woman looked at her and sized her up, so much judgement and what seemed to be loath in her eyes. She always felt unsettled when she was under the therapist's gaze. Now with her sister, she felt the same unsettlement. As if even her sister had begun to judge her. Unable to take it anymore, she pulled the blanket from off of her body and tried to make her way out of the bed only to be stopped by her persistent sister.

"Don't walk out Anna. You can't tell me that you don't want to talk, that sometimes you don't wish to hear your own voice." Now, her sister was sounding like that therapist. She couldn't believe her sister was being so harsh and blunt.

She picked her book and began to write on it, her hands and wrists suddenly feeling weak as her heart dropped to her stomach.

"Of course I want to talk."

"You want to talk? Then why don't you talk Anna? I would do anything to hear your voice again." Anna shook her head at what her sister said, looking down in shame. She all of a sudden felt guilty. Why couldn't she talk? Why wouldn't she talk? She really wanted to but she was just scared to talk. She even tried once to talk in the bathroom to her mirror but as she opened her mouth, not even a squeak came out. She could feel the tears stinging her eyes and she didn't want to let them out but she couldn't even control that one thing. One tear drop, two tear drops, three tear drops, a thousand tear drops and a deep shallow heave that was what it took to bring her sister out of whatever mode she was in. Kemi quickly realised all what she had said, she quickly saw how she had been hurting her sister and she drew her in for another hug. Anna didn't hug back though. She just shook in her sister's arms and let the tear drops roll down her face.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Anna. I was being insensitive I'm very sorry." She kept on apologising to her  sister. She brought her out of the hug and this time, it was her turn to clean the tears from off of her sister's cheeks.
"Let's forget about my stupidity yea? Let's talk about boys hmm? How about that?" Anna looked at her unsure because of what had happened earlier.
"No silly." Kemi said after seeing her sister's look. "Not about boys in my life, about boys in your life." At that she became alert, eyes wide open. She didn't want to talk about boys in her life because at that thought, there seemed to be only one boy in her head.
"Oh my God!! There is a boy isn't it? Is it a boy in school? Wait it's probably from that after school lesson right?" Anna knew that she was in trouble, her sister was very persistent. She wouldn't give up until she got the truth out of her. She could feel the sweat dripping down the side of her head as she still tried to think of ways to escape the questions even if they were going to be futile. "Come on Anna start writing." Kemi shook her. "Tell me who it is, what is his name." Anna decided that even if she was going to tell her sister, she wasn't going to let her know that it felt more than a crush, that it was more than a crush.

"It's just a crush"

She had written on her book and as her sister read the statement, a scowl formed on her face.
"I don't care if it's just a crush, I need a name and description woman." She shoved the book into Anna's hand and watched with so much attention as she scribbled down watching her features to see if she had a slip up as she wrote, so that way she could easily say she was hiding something.

"His name is Henry? Nice name.
He is tall. Wait like how tall? Like me tall or Oma tall?" Anna raised two fingers to signify Oma.
"Oh my that tall?" Anna nodded her head, Kemi gave a look of approval before turning to the book on her hands.
"He is smart and handsome and funny? Anna you dey carry eye go market." She complimented her sister making her sister blush.
"Why do I feel this is more than a crush?" She queried making Anna look at with wide eyes. The mute girl shook her head from side to side, the gears in her head working so hard as she thought of how and when she had made a mistake. She shook her head no and her sister just nodded her head obviously not believing her.
"I think this guy fits you very much. I mean, since you are sapiosexual you deserve a cute and tall guy that is actually smart. Do you think he likes you too? That's one horrible question. Of course he likes you. I mean who wouldn't like you. You are the perfect package. Oh my God I can't believe this Anna you are gonna have a boyfriend finally." Anna's eyes widened even more at this. Sure she liked the boy, but she didn't like him so much to want to be his girlfriend. She knew she shouldn't have told her sister. "Don't worry honey tomorrow I would dress you up for your man. He would see you and all he would want to do is tear that cloth off your body." Anna began shaking her head but her sister continued talking any way.
"Nothing would stop me Anna. Go to sleep you have school tomorrow. And trust me you would need that sleep." She laid back on her bed, ignoring her sister's terrified look and she closed her eyes to sleep.

Anna looked at her, before laying on the bed herself. She stared at the ceiling, thinking of how the next day was going to be bad and coming up with different plans to stop her sister. She reached for the bedside lamp, before switching it off. Letting out a deep breath, she closed her eyes deciding that she was gonna take the next day as it came.
