MONDAY - MAA

"Tired!!" Abubakar yelled for the umpteenth time that Monday and she was beginning to think that she should have left him with the man's corpse. But she knew that even the mere thought of that was plain cruel. Besides she couldn't blame him. They had been walking for God know's how long, not resting all in the attempt to get home. He was probably hungry too but at that point, he seemed to care mostly about sleeping and she couldn't carry him.

She wondered how she still managed to carry on, with her body filled with so much wounds and probably broken bones. It was most likely the adrenaline gushing through her veins and the will to survive just this once.

"We are almost th...there." Of course she didn't know that, she had no idea where the trail they were even following led to. It could probably lead to a cliff and they'd have to turn around and begin another walk. There were no tire marks or any marks at all that she was aware of to lead them through the dense forest.

"Tatu!!" She shook her head for the umpteenth time, not giving him an answer. She couldn't carry him. They'd both end up eating mud as breakfast.

"Tatu!!" He was already crying. He really was tired.
Anna had no other choice but to sit down and relax, with him sitting beside her, his head on her laps. She rested her head on the tree behind her, she was tired and she didn't know when she slipped into unconsciousness.

The continuous rugged movement that had her jerking from side to side and hitting her head on a bit of a flat surface was what woke her up.
The first thing she had noticed was the fact that Abubakar was still on her lap, her arms tightly wound around him. And then she noticed the cool air that surrounded them, it wasn't from the forest it was from the moving vehicle they were in.

She was scared, had he caught up with her? Was he still alive. The male voices from the front seat that complimented the voice from the car's radio had her even more terrified. They had probably stumbled upon them while they napped in the forest and they decided to take them.

"Oga go happy for this girl wey we carry oh" one of them said, his words not doing anything to soothe her fears.

"I tell you. Dem suppose increase our pay, even promote us for this one wey we do." The other said out and his companion who was seated on the passenger seat let out a laugh in agreement.

She wondered what exactly they were talking about, maybe they were traffickers and they were going to sell her off into a prostitution rink. It took all of her courage to not begin to panic and alert them of her consciousness at the mere thought of that.

She looked out the window and she suddenly found herself wishing she had done that a while ago because looking right at her was a surrounding she knew all too well. Somewhere she had passed a billion times. Although she had once hated this place, it now held hope for her. She looked up to the skies and said a silent prayer of thanks to God for helping her out. She looked father into the distance... Not too far though. And she saw the big building she could recognise from a mile away... Her church.

Her mind and head began to race as quick as possible, looking for a plan to execute to save her from this men. She looked down at the door of the car. The child lock hadn't be set and that was a relief. She knew what she had to do. She was going to roll out of the car.

She looked down at her laps for one minute and the sight of the sleeping child on her told her that her plan wasn't as easy as she made it out to be. Still, she had to go thru with it as there were no safer ideas bombarding her head. She only had to find a safer way to execute her plan and just like that her eyes caught sight of the black blanket laying on the chair beside her. It wasn't much, but it was something.
