Maddison came down the hall at a quick pace, her heeled boots making an intimidating noise on the wooden floors, her face looked hard.
"Have you guys seen Nick and Kate?" she asked looking up and seeing Alex, Mike, Nicky and Tracy on the stairs, "I crashed my car."
Nicky's mouth dropped.
"Did you just see into the future!?" Tracy whispered to Mike.
Mike grinned, "That's EXACTLY what I did! Super powers!" he hissed.
"What made you crash?" Alex said getting up, hoping Maddy hadn't herd the others.
Maddison paused, as if thinking of what to say, "Have you seen Chick around?" she asked instead.
"Playing sardines, I think." Alex said, Maddison frowned and turned back down the hall, "What made you crash?" Alex asked again.
"I swerved," Maddy said over her shoulder, "Thought there was someone on the road."
The others got up from the stairs and all four followed after Maddy, wondering how bad Maddy's car was. Just before they turned a corner, Alex saw from her peripheral vision; someone darting down the stairs they had just been sitting on and run down the hall. Alex turned just in time to see a boy slip into the coat room... someone had heard their whole conversation!

March 27th, Three days later, School halls
Amanda slammed her locker door shut, then she leaned her head against it and took a calming breath; it was like she had all this pent-up energy inside her. She had never felt like the outsider in her own friend group- but that's exactly what she had become, and she didn't even know why, when or... WHY!
Alex and Mike had been excluding her from stuff for months... 'don't let it get to you.' She told herself. As if to make it worse, she couldn't help but get the feeling that Anita was keeping a secret too- something about the night she hit her head, something about Jen... AND! Maddison seemed all hush hush about what happened three days ago with her car!
Amanda started down the hall determined to keep calm. During lunch the drama teacher left the drama class open for teens to hangout in- as long as they behaved- and that's where Amanda hoped to find the others.
The drama class had two doors- but one was kind of blocked with a stack of heavy chairs, (probably a fire hazard) and sure enough, Alex and Mike were there, close to the blocked door. No one else was there except Nicky and Tracy...
"Hey!" Amanda greeted trying her best to put her anger behind her.
The group jumped and looked up with guilty expressions, "Amanda!" Nicky squeaked. And Alex held her hand behind her back.
"What's going on...?" Amanda asked- if they said nothing!
"Nothing, just hanging.... Out." Mike shrugged his shoulders.
Amanda glared at them- that's it! "Right- and you're not my twin. What is going on with you guys!? You two have been whispering in corners for months like there's some great big secret that I can't know about- well guess what- you missed my birthday! And now you two are in on whatever this is!?" she pointed at Tracy and Nicky.
No one spoke after her out burst. Nicky and Tracy looked away, Mike rolled his lips in, only Alex tried to say something.
"Amanda..."
"No- you know what, keep your dumb secret and have your secret meetings- I don't care!" she stormed to the nearest door- she didn't care if it was blocked! Shoving the stack of chairs over Amanda pushed the door open, tears threatening to spill.

"Oh man... she's really upset." Mike whimpered.
"Maybe we should tell her..." Alex said with a pang of guilt.
"She'll think we're insane." Tracy pointed out.
They were silent for a moment, then Alex uncrumpled the note she had hid from Amanda- she had been about to show the others when Amanda had came in.
"Where was this one?" Mike asked.
"In my locker again." Alex said as she flattened the note and read it one more time to herself- the hand-written words were like sharp shards pricking her every time she saw them.
"This isn't the first one!?" Nicky asked.
"I got the first note on valentines... it was the note you two thought was from a secret admirer or something." Alex said thinking back to that day over a month ago.
"Oh." Tracy said as she remembered.
"What's this one say?" Mike asked hesitantly.
Alex handed the note around.
You're all freaks with your zapping, and your 'time travel'. You all belong in a circus
"Who's it from!?" Nicky asked his eyes wide and fearful- he knew what it was like to be bullied.
Alex and Mike shrugged, "We have no clue! We haven't told anyone!" Mike insisted.
"I didn't say so then... but someone over heard us at the Quiz meet." Alex confessed quietly.
"What!?" Mike exclaimed a little too loud.
"WHO!?" Nicky and Tracy asked together.
"I don't know- but they were further up on the stairs and heard the whole conversation. I only saw them dart down the hall and into the coat room from the corner of my eye. All I know is it's a boy."
"Why didn't you say anything!?" Mike demanded.
Alex held up the note in her defence, "Cuz this was all I could think of! I'm not sure I'm ready to meet this guy face to face!"
"Me either!" Nicky said with large eyes.
"Oh yeah- did you tell Alex about how you 'zoomed in' on Mr. Warble's nose with your super vision?" Mike asked with a childish grin.
"It's not super vision." Tracy corrected.
"My eyes just zoom in really close sometimes- if it was super vision I'd be able to control when it happens." Nicky grumbled, a little red in the face- it was quite disturbing to suddenly be staring at someone's skin pores while you were trying to have a conversation!
"Like a... super telescope!" Mike gushed with bright eyes, "And you can heal yourself!" he grinned at Tracy who blushed and rubbed her perfect hip. "And I'm like.... A TIME LORD!!!"
"Hush!" Alex said suddenly, "Or have you forgotten," she held up the note again, Mike evened out his face to be serious again.
"We haven't told anyone about this." Alex went on, darting her eyes to the door, "and that means that we aren't so good with keeping a secret. So from now on- no more talking about this! Not at school. Not at quizzing."
"We could wear masks." Mike whispered with a grin, Alex whapped him on his knee- he yelped as an electric shock zapped him.
Alex held her hand to herself in surprise, then she looked at the others, "We can't talk about this at all." She repeated.
Who do you think is writing the notes? Will Amanda find out about her friends secret?
