Claudia undid her seat belt as her older brother pulled into the church parking lot. Tonight was the night that they would be joining another quiz team. Claudia looked out the car window at the church building; it looked like she was the first one to arrive- but there was no way she was going in alone!
"I still wish you had recorded it." Her brother, Colten said.
Claudia turned to see what her brother was looking at; Jen was coming down the street on her bike, "Recorded what?" she asked.
"When Garbage Girl soaked you with coffee!" Colten laughed, "That would have been perfect for my channel!"
Claudia scowled, "It wasn't funny!"
Colten continued to smirk, "I think it was- and my followers would have thought so too!"
Claudia ignored his comment and pulled down the mirror to check her dark brown hair. She rolled her lips, her lip scar puckering slightly, and she smiled at her self; she had always liked that scar.
"Look at her though!" Colten insisted; Jen had reached the church and had clumsily climbed off her bike and was now dragging it up the front steps, "It's like she was made for my channel!" Colten laughed as Jen's lag got caught in her bike wheel. "You know I need another video for my channel..." he said thoughtfully.
Claudia rolled her eyes; she thought her brothers channel was stupid. 'The weird brander'? What kind of name was that!?
"You know... this new quiz team just might be full of weirdos..." Colten mused.
"I hope not!" Claudia said as she flipped the mirror back up; it was bad enough that she had to hangout with Jen once a week!
"You'd get special mention on my channel if you got me footage of a weirdo being weird." Colten said with mischief in his brown eyes.
Just then Lisa was dropped off in front of the church, and Claudia opened her car door, "I'm not helping you with your stupid channel!" she declared and climbed out.
"Have it your way." Colten said with a smirk, then drove away.
Claudia hurried over to Lisa, "Where are the others?" her friend asked. Claudia gave her a quick hug, "They should be here soon."
"Hey!" Jen called from the top of the steps.
Claudia closed her eyes in annoyance, while Lisa forced a smile, "Hey." She replied, then looped her arm with Claudia and slowly began up the steps; forcing Claudia to go with her.
"Were you at the Halloween haunt last week?" Jen asked- she sounded a bit anxious.
"Me and Spencer were, yeah. Why?" Lisa asked- she was too nice to Jen!
Jen bit her lip, "Did you see Maddison there?"
"Nope." Lisa said shortly.
"I think she was following me!" Jen blurted out.
Claudia frowned, "What?"
"Maddison- I think she followed me to the Halloween haunt! I think she's been spying on me!"
Claudia exchanged a look with Lisa- then burst out laughing, "What are you talking about!?"
Before Jen could reply, Maddison herself pulled up in her truck, in the passenger seat was Ken, he climbed out and rolled his seat up to let Spencer and Jackson out from the tiny back seat.
"Don't tell them what I said!" Jen bagged in a whisper.
"There you are!" Ken said to Jen as the group approached.
"You know you didn't have to bike- I could have given you a ride." Maddy said kindly to Jen.
The blonde smiled stiffly and nodded.
Claudia narrowed her eyes; what was going on here?

Lisa tossed her light brown hair to one side as she looked the other team captain up and down; she was a pretty red head who didn't look at all comfortable with having to join another team. But maybe this wouldn't be so bad- one of the boys on the other team was kind of cute!
"All right, lets brake off in twos to memorize our verses!" Nick- the Quiz master of the other team instructed. He and his wife (what was her name? Kate?) seemed cool, Lisa wasn't sure about some of the others though.
"Come on." Claudia grabbed Lisa's hand and they made their way to a corner of the room. They made themselves comfortable on the floor, and Lisa opened her gospel of Mark, all her verses were high lighted in pink. They only had a few more weeks till their first quiz meet- Lisa smiled; last year Jackson's verse book had fallen apart half way through the year and he had duck taped it back together.
"What do you think of my brothers youtube channel?" Claudia asked suddenly.

Lisa quickly looked to where Jen was going over her verses with her brother across the room; only she knew that Claudia was the sister of the guy that had made Jen into Garbage Girl.
"What about it?" Lisa asked carefully, she had thought the whole concept of the channel to be a little cruel... but some of the videos were funny!
"My brother wants me to get some footage." Claudia said checking her nails, "I said I wouldn't..."
"But?" Lisa prompted.
"But Jen talking crazy about Maddison was pretty funny!" Claudia said with a smirk.
Lisa had to agree on that! She looked over the church basement; groups of twos were scattered about talking quietly, while Nick, Kate and Maddy went from group to group to test them on their memorization. Lisa's blue eyes halted... across the room Maddison stood in a dark corner with one of the girls from the other team. The girl was quite short next to Maddy, and had golden hair tossed to one side. The two stood close together as if whispering...
Maybe Jen was on to something about Maddy... she did seem very secretive at times...
