The blonde girl in chair five- who looked freakishly just like his sister- timed out on the question; so it went to Jen instead.
Ken sat nervously with Maddison, the audience went so quiet it was awkward. Jen stood, gazing up at the ceiling and scratching the heel of one foot with the other.
"She should know this one." Maddy whispered, and Ken frowned- yeah she should- but this was Jen they were talking about!
Jen mumbled for a moment- the clock ticking down on her time. She only had fifteen seconds left!
"and the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, "we've never seen anything like this before!"" Jen finished her verse correctly just in time- the crowd went crazy- it was like they knew that Jen hadn't gotten a single question for the whole weekend!
Ken smiled and leaned back, while Maddy stood clapping, Ken was doubly pleased to see that the entire team gave Jen high fives- even Spencer and Claudia!
Then the opposing team gave Jen high fives! Including the really tall guy who had been jumping for nearly every question!
Ken caught his sisters eye and nodded his congratulations- Jen returned his nod with a goofy grin.

A few minutes later, After the last quiz match of the day
Jackson gulped down water, the water bottle in his hand compressing and making the most awful noise in his over sensitive ears, but he didn't stop until the bottle was nearly empty. Anything to wash out the overpowering taste of cheezies from his mouth! He hadn't even had any cheezies- but someone at the last quiz match had opened a bag and it was like a nuclear BOMB of taste had gone off in Jackson's mouth!
So now, apparently, his taste buds were super sensitive too!
Spencer giggled beside him, "Thirsty much?"
Jackson wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, "Yeah." He grunted without looking at her.
"Come on you guys!" Ken called to them from the end of the hall, "Nick and Kate want to talk to everyone in the coat room!"
Jackson nodded- then spotted Lisa, "Go ahead- I'll catch up." he said to Spencer- again without looking at her; he had more important things to think about then girls! Not that girls weren't an issue, with Spencer going starry eyed for him, Chick giving him the cold shoulder ever since the 'failed hacking' (yeah, his Dad was not impressed with his marks from that homework) and on top of all that, he was nervous what Lisa and Claudia would do if they found out about his... sensitive senses. If it was their quest to find weird people... then he was practically the ringmaster of weird!
"What?" Lisa asked as he joined her.
He bent his head low to her, his brown curls hanging down, "Do you really think they have super powers?" he whispered.
Lisa gave him a weird look, "Really? You want to talk about that NOW!?" she stepped past him to go to the coat room, "Come on Jackson!" she called when he hesitated.

Claudia shivered as she sat in her brothers car- she should have put on a sweater! Colten had driven the four hours to the large country church, and had texted her to meet her outside right after her last quiz match. But of course he couldn't be near the door! He had pulled his car over on the side of the road- making Claudia walk across the parking lot in the dark- AND across the country road!
"You haven't got anything!?" Colten asked in disbelief.
Claudia rolled her eyes; Colten really didn't get it! She wasn't doing this for his stupid channel- she was doing this cuz something crazy was happening and she wanted to know what!
"No- in case you didn't know- quizzing is a lot of work!" she said with a strong dose of sass, "and quiz meets can be quite stressful! So no; I haven't had time to spy on people and get videos of them doing weird stuff!"
Colten looked angry, "You knew I was going to drive all this way! And you didn't even try!?"
Claudia reached to open her door, "I didn't make you drive all the way here- that was all you!" she opened the door and climbed out into the ditch. Slamming the door, she waited a moment, (Colten was probably grumbling to himself) then her brother started his car and pulled away, leaving Claudia standing on the side of the road.
Claudia closed her eyes and took a deep breath- then shivered- it was COLD out! Her phone buzzed- it was a message from Lisa, asking her where she was. Claudia ignored the message and slipped her phone back in her pocket. Then, without caring to look, she started across the country road in the dark.
Suddenly a sixth sense warned Claudia to look to her left. Her eyes widened in fear, and she caught her breath; she was staring straight at the head lights of an oncoming car!
Claudia's legs moved to rush her out of the way- but nothing happened! She looked down and gasped to see that her feet... weren't on the road. She was two inches ABOVE the road! Her feet were running- but she wasn't moving! She was FLOATING! And floating HIGHER by the second!
Her head jerked up- her dark hair flinging out- the car was almost on top of her!

It wasn't a car. It was a truck. It was Maddison's truck.
Claudia scrambled to her feet; WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO HER!? The drivers door on the truck was opening- clearly Maddy was fine!
Panic filling her, Claudia turned and made a brake for the church parking lot- never before had she been thankful that her feet made firm contact with the ground- but she was now! Darting between the parked cars, Claudia crouched down and tried to regain control of her breathing.
"Claudia?" Maddison called out.
Claudia jumped and bit her lip; Maddy had seen her!
"Is anyone there?" Maddison called again.
Claudia breathed in relief; Maddison wasn't sure who she had seen.
"I'm one of them." Claudia whispered in shock and fear; what in the world was happening!?
I think I'll try defying gravity! Oh hehe- did I break out into song again?
