Acquired Taste

Ever since I was a little kid, especially growing up in a culture of spicy food, I was taught that my taste in food can change with time. My parents have always encouraged me to try out new things, even if they don't taste the best, because I might end up liking them.
This thing is called acquired taste.

And I have to admit, my parents were right. Nowadays, I eat so many things that I absolutely hated growing up - like pineapples on pizza, black olives, etc.
I like to think of it as "training your brain to question the obvious".
And you know what, it's ok if your taste buds are wrong sometimes. It's actually pretty cool to be able to discover new things about yourself.
And maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that mine were actually wrong all this time. Maybe liking boys is an acquired taste, and I can train my brain to fall in love with the right gender someday.
