The One That Got Away

Chapter Twelve

Sungjae parked at the farthest spot in the area. He reached out for a black cap and mask beside Sooyoung's bag of clothes from the laundry at the backseat. He wore it and looked at the rear-view mirror.

"Do I still look like Sungjae from BTOB now?" he asked Sooyoung, who was staring outside in awe.

By the look from Sooyoung's face, Sungjae felt pleased and satisfied that they came here. I knew she likes it here! Sungjae blurted out in his mind.

"Amusement park??" Sooyoung eyes lit up, looking at him.

"Yes. Now unbuckle your seatbelt and let's go inside." Sungjae commanded, unbuckling his seatbelt.

They are now inside the amusement park. Sooyoung still felt so excited and happy that she looked like a kid.

"So, which ride would you like to try first?" Sooyoung adverted her gaze now to Sungjae, asking her the question.

Sooyoung hesitated for a second before asking, "Are you sure this is okay? Don't you have schedule for today? What if a fan recognizes you? And, we just met. Don't you think this is strange?"

Sungjae knew Sooyoung was worried about those things but he didn't know too why all of a sudden he dragged her here all along.

"Sooyoung, we can worry about those things later on. Yes, we just met. But I felt like bringing you here. And, this is my first. With a girl." Sungjae explained, emphasizing the last sentence in his statement.

Without waiting for her reply, he held Sooyoung's hand and went towards the first ride they are going to try. The roller coaster.

After almost 2 hours of riding, eating and walking around the amusement park, they were already tired. It was their first time hanging out and they enjoyed a lot being together. They were both happy.

*ring~ring~ring~

A sudden ring was heard by both of them. Sooyoung looked at Sungjae and he glanced in his pocket. It seemed like his phone was the one ringing.

"You better ttake hat call Sungjae. It must be an important one." Sooyoung suggested.

Sungjae did what she said and got his phone. He looked at the caller ID, removed his mask for awhile and mouthed 'Hyunsik' to Sooyoung. She nodded her head and gestured at him to take the call now.

"Oh, Hyunsik. What do you want?" Sungjae asked the person on the other line.

Sooyoung couldn't hear what Hyunsik replied but she could tell from Sungjae's face that he had to go now.

"Yeah, yeah. Sorry. I completely forgot. Just wait for me there, okay?" he said before hanging up the call.

"What did he want?" she asked.

"Not much. I forgot he's in my condo, waiting for me." Sungjae replied, scratching the back of his head.

"Then, we must go now if he's waiting for you." Sooyoung commented.

"Let's try one more ride Sooyoung, please?" Sungjae begged, holding his hands together, staring intently at her.

Sooyoung knew that she didn't want to leave yet but Sungjae has to go already. Should we ride one more? She thought.

"Okay." she suddenly agreed, nodding her head.

"Let's try the ferris wheel." Sungjae said, grabbing her hand again.

For the nth time today, he has seen Sooyoung's cheeks became red whenever he said something sweet and whenever he held her hand. She's so cute when she blushes. He said in his mind.

So, this is my first time writing a chapter this long. I usually write like one page each chapter. And I wanted to write more about what will happen in the ferris wheel but I feel like it's too long already. So, next chap will be more on the two of them talking inside the ride hahaha
