26Happy New Year
...
New years day was six days ago, and I've just finished my second book of the year. Surprisingly, both books warranted an eight hundred word summary, three hundred more than what's usually required, because they were just that good.
However, my previous experience with this brand new year, had put my hopes too high for the next book. Unfortunately, twenty pages in, my eyes are threatening to close due to the absolute boringness of the plot.
I hadn't realised of course, that I had actually fallen asleep, until someone threw a paperclip at my head, "Luna-ssi [ssi is an honorific], wake up."
I raise my head from my desk, blinking at the bright light coming from my lamp. I can see that the sun has officially set for the day, the sky still a smooth shade of navy with black creeping in.
Jinseo's head is cocked to one side as she grins, "you shouldn't go clubbing so often."
I scoff with my body still leaning on the hard wooden surface, "you mean, we shouldn't have stayed up last night crying about our love lives."
Jinseo nods solemnly, "yeah... God I was drunk."
As I straighten up and stretch, I groan, "yes you were."
Kiah turns her laptop off and sighs, "aigo [omg], you two are depressing. Why don't we actually go clubbing?"
Jinseo and I groan in unison, "we're too old for that."
Kiah feigns a look of disgust, "aigo [omg]. Ok ajumma [middle aged women], I'm going to see my boyfriend now. Goodnight, sleep early!"
The sprightly younger female skips out of the room with her folder clutched in her hands. Jinseo playfully hisses at her, "aish [ergh]... maybe we should go clubbing."
