———————————————————————————————————Elena and Rebekah had switched spots in the car, as Rebekah was tired of driving, but Davina was persistent in staying seated on the passenger side. The car was currently being parked in a small Pennsylvania town.
"Why are we stopping?"
"We've searched three cities in the last twenty-four hours, I'm sick of Top Forty radio, and I smell like leather," Elena lists. She gets out of the car and the two girls follow her.
"That's not our fault," Davina huffs. "We're only putting up with you in hopes of finding the damn cure. We don't want to be in the car any longer than necessary, so maybe you should stop with the complaints. Besides, you stole the information from Damon. Ever take into consideration that it might be bad?"
"Have I mentioned that I can't stand the sound of your voice?"
"Have I mentioned that I can't stand you in general? Yes, several times," Davina snaps back.
"We'll leave in a minute. I'm hungry," Elena says as she sees a girl not too far away.
"We're not here for a pub crawl, Elena," Rebekah exclaims. "I want the cure, Katherine has it! We don't stop until we find her."
"I said in a minute." Elena appears next to the girl who was putting things in her trunk.
"Oh, you startled me," the girl says.
"Did I?" Elena's about to go for her neck.
"Katherine, what are you doing?"
Elena pulls back and looks at her curiously. "You know me?"
"Of course. And I know most people around here prefer you to feed from the neck, but I asked you to drink from my wrist. Remember?" She pulls back her sleeve and reveals a bite mark.
"The conniving little bitch compelled the whole town," Rebekah laughs.
"I think we just found Katherine," Elena smiles. "What's my full name?"
"Katherine Pierce. Love the new 'do, by the way," the girl comments.
"So, how do you know Katherine?"
"How do I know who?"
"Me. How do you know me," Elena asks.
"Small town, everybody knows everybody," she replies.
"So everyone here knows Katherine?"
The girl looks at Rebekah in confusion. "I'm sorry, I don't know who you're talking about."
"She compelled people to forget all about her unless she's talking to them herself," Rebekah realizes and begins chuckling. "Clever girl."
"How long have we known each other?"
"I-it's been a while. I can't remember," the girl stammers.
"Where do I live? Where do I work?"
"I don't know."
"Who do I spend time with? Do I have any friends?"
"I don't know."
"This girl is marvelously useful," Davina sighs.

The trio walks over to a postal worker who's outside the post office. Elena approaches him and gives a tentative smile. "Hey, excuse me, um...do I have any mail today?"
