Hehehe. Nine days.
Me: Runs and hides.
Sorry. I lost track of time. If you guys didn't see the comments that I left at the bottom of last chapter, check them now. So... Here's another chapter! And I put in in evil twist just to make everything interesting. I know most of you will want to pull your hair out by the end of this chapter.
Muahaha!
Me: Runs back into a hole and hides.Annabeth's POV
Are you kidding me?! Are you serious?! Uggggh!
We couldn't get a break. Not one. Single. Break.
All we wanted was a day or two off to watch the campers freak out over our pranks. But nooooo. Monsters had to come and attack during the time where we were having the most fun since we had come to Earth.
The first wave.
I rode atop Shula. Tsunami was raised in a deadly arc of silver, and my hunting knives strapped to my belt. In the distance, I heard the camp horn blare again. Over the crest of Half-Blood Hill I could make out 300 monsters, give or take a few. And leading them was the Minotaur. Just like the battle of New York against Kronos.
I remembered taking that knife for Percy. I remembered when Percy caused the bridge to collapse, taking down the Minotaur and his followers. I remembered Michael Yew dying on that bridge, sacrificing his life for the greater good.
I wiped my eyes. This was 15 years later. The stupid Minotaur shouldn't bring up emotional memories like that.
But out of the corner of my eye, I saw Percy's gaze harden. His fingers twitched, reaching for Riptide at his belt. In a flash, he was on top of Neptune, wings spread, charging into battle. "Greeks!" he shouted. "Lets, um... fight stuff!" And he led the camp into battle
(Anyone know what that's referencing?")
Percy headed straight for the Minotaur. Neptune roared a threat towards the monster. His black and green scales glinted in the morning light, temporarily blinding the enemy.
Meanwhile, I and the other Chaos Warriors took to the skies on dragon back. As we had discovered when Percy had first attempted to fly with his wings, dragon wings were more maneuverable than wings on a human.
Shula flew up, hundreds of feet above the camp, then fell into a vertical dive. I let out a shout of pure elation as Shula leveled out inches above the monster army, and let loose a burst of hot, bright orange flames. Everything within 50 yards of the flames burned to ash immediately.
But it wasn't enough. 20 monsters down, 280 to go.
While the campers pulled out swords, unsheathed knives, and pulled back strings on bows, us eight Chaos Warriors, not including Percy, flew in a triangle formation through the air, watching the Chaos happen below.
We each fell off of our dragon backs and spread our wings, floating on the wind beside our dragons.
Then we dived, one by one, until we were hovering three inches off the ground. The monsters stopped, clearly wondering why their opponents had dragon wings. Although the pause was short, it gave the camp enough time to gain the upper hand.
Three slashes and down went Kelly the Empousa and her squad. A silver arrow from a hunter and a telkhine burst into dust. A swish of a dagger, and a hell hound dissolved into shadows.
But it was clear that Percy was taking his time. He was playing with the Minotaur, jumping to the side every time the beast charged. Each time it did, Percy lopped off a part of the Minotaur. One horn. Than another. "Now I'll have a matching set," I heard him tease. But no one was paying attention to him but me.
