I was walking outside with the Cullen's towards the buss' for the trip when Mike ran up to me. The clan of course left leaving me to deal with him.

"So I was thinking..you know well I know things have been weird but with prom coming up I don't know I was just hoping-" He rambled and I cut him off.

"Mike you're a great guy and we're friends but I think that's all we can be..friends but you should ask Jessica. I know she really likes you." I said sending him one last sad smile before getting on the bus and sitting between Rose and Emmett.

"Don't." Rose warned her mare but he couldn't help but make a comment.

"Very smooth, break the kids heart gently." Emmett said with a chuckle.

Wanting to hit the indestructible boy with a plane I settled for throwing my bag at him.

"Hey!" He said taken by surprise and I rolled my eyes.

"Now you can hold it." I said and he groaned as Rose passed her bag down as well for him to hold.

"La Push baby La Push." I heard Eric repeat as I left the Cullen clan and walked over to their lunch table.

"Oh come on Lydia you gotta come." Eric said and I looked to Bella an unhappy face.

"I don't know I think-" I went to make an excuse but Bella stopped me.

"Please Lydia." Bella said with pleading eyes.

"Fine, But can I bring someone?" I asked and that's when Mike chipped into the conversation.

"Like a-a date?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know yet. I'll be back." I said standing from the table and walking outside.

Outside of the cafeteria I pursed my lips as I pulled out my phone that had Josh's number dialed.

After a few rings he picked up.

"Yellow-hi-I mean hey." He stuttered out in attempts to seem less dorky.

"Hey I know this is gonna sound weird and you probably won't be down for hanging around with a bunch of high school kids-" I began rambling and he chuckled.

"Do you maybe wanna come to La Push, there's wale watching and people are gonna be surfing." I said feeling a bit nervous.

"Sounds like fun." He said and I was a little surprised.

"Really?" I asked letting the question slip my tongue.

"Yeah really. Obviously I'm not coordinated enough to surf but I'll get to hang out with you so sounds like fun." He repeated causing me to blush.

"So I'll see you then." I said walking back inside the cafeteria and toward the Cullen table.

"It's a date." He said and hung up quickly to scared to hear what'd she say next.

"Ow ow ow." Emmett said some type of cat call as I sat at the table.

"Someone's got a date." Alice cooed and I rolled my eyes.

"She's feeling quite happy, I didn't even have to force it on her." Jasper said and I lightly nudged him.

"Bella just asked me to La Push." Edward said sitting down.

"And you said no." I said because it was the obvious answer.

"I told her on the trip I'm no good for her, why can't she just understand that." Ed said with a sigh.

"Because she's hard headed just like you Ed." I said and the clan just smiled lightly knowing I was right.

We were all at La Push, Bella and Angela sat in Tyler's Van across from Josh and I who sat in the bed of his truck sharing a blanket.

"So, I keep thinking that Eric's gonna ask me to prom, and then he just doesn't." Angela said as we watched Jess, Eric, and Mike take off towards the ocean.

"You should ask him. Take control. You're a strong, independent woman." Bella said and I chuckled.

"I am?" She asked and Bella just nodded.

"Yes." Bella said causing Angel to smile.

"Are you going?" Josh asked leaning closer to me.

"Uh I don't know, I don't have a date or a dress, or-" I went to but he cut me off.

"I'm pretty sure you have a dress or two lying around and if uh- the date part is the problem then I'm I'll be your date." Josh uneasily managed to stutter out.

"You'd take me?" I asked kind of surprised, I didn't even noticed the three tan, long haired boys that had walked up and started to converse with Bella.

"Well actually you'd be taking me because it's your prom but anyway-" Josh nervously blurted out before continuing.

"I don't know if you remember this but I had the hugest crush on you growing up but I was your brothers dorky friend." He said with a small chuckle.

"You liked me? You really liked me?" I asked surprised and he chuckled.

"Well that's kind of what I just said-" He went to reply sarcastically but I cut him off by attaching my lips to his for a quick kiss.

"Woah, woah." He said in amazement.

"You should've said something sooner because I had the biggest crush on you too." I said and his eyes widened.

"Really? Really? Me? You liked me?" He asked surprised and I chuckled.

"Yeah Luke used to make fun of me about it all the time." I said with a chuckle and his eyes widened again.

"He knew? He didn't tell me! Wow he must of had a blast holding that over our heads." Josh said with a laugh.

"Oh he did." I said as we sat close as we watched the waves roll in.
