Demi's POV
It's been a week since Alex's funeral and I've been a mess I couldn't think straight I just felt like nothing mattered anymore, every time Marissa leaves to get something I grab the razors and lock myself in the bathroom when I come out I still feel the same numb and broken. I still keep getting letters from the Army and they comeback with the address and name written in pen and they say "Open Immediately After Receiving In Mail." but I ignore them because I don't want to know what's inside.I sit down in the living room and my eyes are swollen from crying,from not sleeping, and not eating for days the only time I would eat is in front of my family when they came to keep me company but it doesn't stay down for long. While I'm in the living room I have a box of all the things Alex gave me when we were still together I haven't taken off my engagement ring or my necklace because she's still the one and I promised that I'd be with her forever and I'm not letting that go too, As I'm looking through all of Alex's old photos when she was a kid I smiled because of how cute she looked and then I see the video of the day she proposed to me and the videos from 4th of July and my birthday we looked so happy together but now that I'm here and she's gone watching those videos didn't bring me happiness like they use to it only caused more pain. I start sobbing and while I went to lay down I hear the doorbell ring I get up wipe my eyes and open the door to see Stephanie there with a bag of groceries and she says
"Hey Demi I just stopped by to make sure you're okay and I brought you a few things to eat." she said I smile a little and I say in a weak voice
"Hey Stephanie and thank you so much for making sure I'm okay that's really sweet of you."
"Demi look I know it still hurts I can tell by just looking into your eyes you've been crying for days and I know you still love Alex but sooner or later you're going to have to let go and move on with your life Alex would've wanted you to do that." she said
"It hurts like hell without her and I can't just forget about her she means so much to me and I love her and I always will I made a promise to her and I plan on keeping it because I truly love her." I said Stephanie looks at me and she hugs me and I hug her back and said
"Okay but no matter what I'll always be here for you Demi if you ever need anything don't hesitate to call I'll be here in a second okay."
"Okay I will." I said she hugs me one last time and I hear a tiny voice behind me and I knew it was Jeremy
"Mommy who's this.?" he said
"Hey babyboy this is one of Momma's friends she was with her while she was away." I said I'm still holding onto Stephanie my arm was on her side and Stephanie says
"Hey little guy I'm Stephanie it's nice to meet you." she said Jeremy stood back for a second and I see his face he looked confused but he walked to her and pushed me away from her and he said
"No I don't like you don't touch my Mommy I want Momma back not you!" he said as he ran away into his room
"Jeremy baby wait." I said
"Demi don't worry about him he's still upset about this whole thing he'll come around." she said
"I'm sorry about that he never acts like that with anyone maybe he's a little on edge after everything, my mom is coming later and she's taking him with her for a couple days because I'm still in a deep depression she thought it would be for the best." I said
"That seems like a good Idea listen I have to go take care of a few things with the base I'll be back in a few hours don't hesitate to call okay Dems.?" she said
