"And you're POSITIVE you haven't seen him anywhere? You or the sibs?...yeah...yeah...okay, makes sense...yeah should only take a few minutes and I'll be hot on his trail...yeah...I hope so too...thanks for letting me do this after closing. A lot easier to pull it off without a crowd...yeah...don't worry, I promise...yep...okay, see you soon...bye."

Sans sighed as he hung up the phone, slipping it into a pocket in his cargo shorts before picking up the pace to keep up with Grillbz's long strides.

"Latte gave us the okay." he confirmed when he was once again walking alongside his friend.

Grillbz breathed out in relief.

"Thank goodness. I would've felt terrible if we just showed up unannounced to investigate."

Sans chuckled at that.

"Yeah...that certainly would've been an awkward conversation. Hey Latte! I know that we haven't been friends again for very long, but is it cool if we snoop around your cafe a bit so we can track down my brother that is posessed by a demon child that is likely training him to kill his sworn enemy? 'Kay thanks!"

Grillbz couldn't help but laugh at that notion before getting serious again.

"...you sure you're up to this Sans? You were in pretty bad shape earlier..."

Sans' smile disappeared as he thought a moment before giving a nod.

"Yeah...I'll be okay. It caught me off guard before and I didn't have much time to sort my emotions out. And you know how I get when that happens. Makes me act irrational and revisit past issues that had already been put to bed. But I feel better now. Not completely, but enough to get this done. I can handle it." Sans answered.

Grillbz considered this as they kept walking.

"Well...just know that it's okay to feel overwhelmed. I mean...nobody gets better overnight and this is...really a lot to deal with under ANY circumstances."

Sans shrugged.

"I know...but right now the only thing I need to focus on is Papyrus...before he does something he'll regret."

Grillbz nodded as he shifted his gaze forward again. As the two turned a corner onto a different street, he couldn't help but feel a small pit forming in his stomach as his anxiety grew. He could already tell the situation could either go very well or very badly, and he was genuinely fearing the outcome of the latter. A part of him wondered why he even allowed himself to get roped into this. In the grand scheme of things, he didn't think he'd be all that useful. Sure he had his healing abilities and fire...but he didn't have any fighting experience to back it up outside of the training he had done with Toriel in the past. If something went wrong, both Papyrus AND Sans could wind up dead if he wasn't prepared...

For that matter, HE could wind up dead if he wasn't prepared!

The thought sent a cold sensation down Grillbz's body as he and Sans drew closer to the Corner Cafe. He always knew deep down being around Sans could lead to potential danger due to his original line of work as a judge. He just never thought he would voluntarily become a participant in it, especially with the situation being at the scale it was at. He could very well die if this situation went sour. He could vanish from existence for good!
