JISUNG SIGHED, RESTING HIS HEAD AGAINST DESK; THE LAB CHAIR NEXT TO HIM WAS EMPTY, since his science partner had switched classes a few days prior, and he could already feel a migraine coming in at the thought of doing an icky science lab alone.
Or maybe it was because he'd had to stay up until two AM to complete his homework the previous night. No matter how late he had to go to sleep, he didn't regret taking a detour to walk Minho home. He smiled slightly at the thought, secretly hoping there'd be another chance for him to do so again without looking creepy or weird.
"Good morning, class!" The boy groaned in response along with the many other students in the classroom. He just wanted the day to end already. He let out a quite sigh and tried to write down as many notes as he possibly could while his teacher droned on.

By the time lunch rolled around, it was as if part of his soul had escaped his body. He lifelessly dragged himself to his locker, and waited for Felix to meet him there. "Hey – whoa you look like shit," he laughed, and Jisung turned to glare at his best-friend, but before they could needlessly bicker, the shorter boy noticed the tall boy awkwardly standing beside Felix.
His eyes swept over the black haired boy, almost scrutinizing him. He was handsome, no doubt about it, but in an odd way, he felt intimidated. "Hi, I'm Hwang Hyunjin." He finally introduced himself, sticking out a hand which Jisung took in a flash, a bright smile making its way onto his face.
"I'm Jisung, nice to meet'cha." He managed to pull out whatever energy he had left to make a good impression; he didn't want this Hyunjin guy to think he was some brooding, scary dude. Before long, they were walking together to the cafeteria to join the rest of their friend group.
By the time they reached their table, most of their friends were deeply entrenched in some conversation about one of their girlfriends. "Yeah, and she got angry because I 'get jealous too easily', but like, I'm her boyfriend, so I'm allowed to get jealous whenever I want, right?" The rest of the group cheered their agreement, and Jisung absentmindedly picked at his salad.
"Oh!" Hyunjin let out a small gasp, a smile growing on his features. His eyes were focused on something over Jisung's shoulder, and when the strawberry blond turned to see what it was out of curiosity, his eyes glided over the room, but nothing stood out to him that could have caught the tall boy's attention.
His eyes rested on Minho's lonely frame in the corner for a few moments, before he turned around again, stabbing some lettuce with his fork and shoving it into his mouth. "Minho!" Hyunjin called, causing the younger boy to choke on his lunch.
The brunet barely looked up from his table, because surely nobody would call him. There was bound to be another person with his name in the cafeteria, anyhow. Hyunjin jogged up to his table, tapping his shoulder.
The older male jumped slightly, his eyes wide as he turned to face the other boy. "Hey!" Hyunjin piped, a big smile gracing his features. Minho blinked for a few moments before lowering his head slightly.
"Hi." He replied quietly, and despite his silence, the black haired male continued to talk. "Do you wanna come sit with us?" Clearly the younger boy didn't know that Felix and Minho were brothers, and the brunet shook his head.
"Sorry, I have somewhere to be soon." He smiled, and Jisung felt oddly bitter. He wasn't sure what had been exchanged between the two – he was too far to overhear anything – but he didn't like the fact that the boy had smiled at someone other than him.
He knew how ridiculous he was being, and he didn't know why he felt so jealous seeing Minho smiling at Hyunjin. Maybe it was because Hyunjin was about as handsome compared to him as the sun was bright compared to the moon, and the fact that maybe Minho preferred the other made him feel anxious and angry.
He let out a huff of air, shaking his head slightly as he resumed poking a tomato in his Tupperware container. Why are you so jealous? He questioned himself, unable to find a correct response. He shouldn't be jealous; it's not like you're his boyfriend or anything.
The thought made him abruptly stop playing with his food, and the tips of his ears redden. Now that the thought had slipped in, he couldn't shove it out again. He shivered, trying to shrug the thought away, because it wasn't right.
He barely knew Minho, and Minho was a guy. If he let himself grow entangled with those feelings – accept those feelings – he'd end up just like his sister had; that terrified him more than anything else.
His eyebrows furrowed when someone slipped into the side beside him, an arm suddenly draped over his shoulders. He looked up, eyebrows furrowed, when he noticed Jaehyun now occupying the seat to his left.
"Wassup, Sunshine Boy?" He smirked, and Felix eyed him, eyebrows raised. Jisung couldn't say he liked the nickname – it was quite possibly worse than the one Felix had come up with – but he felt rude to say anything about it.
He awkwardly shrugged the other's arm away from his body, scooting down the bench to put some much needed distance between the two. He felt his lungs constrict, because what if anybody saw and got the wrong idea?
He couldn't let that happen; if anybody found out, his parents were sure to sooner or later. Hyunjin skipped back to the table, before freezing dead in his tracks upon noticing Jaehyun. All the shine in his eyes had vanished, instead replaced by a cold, hateful glare.
"Why the hell are you here?"
