JISUNG SMILED, LAUGHING ALONG WITH FELIX AND HYUNJIN AS THEY MADE THEIR WAY towards the youngest's house. They'd decided to 'study' for their big upcoming geography test over a sleepover at Felix's house, although they all knew it was most likely that they'd end up fooling around instead of actually working.
They all settled down on the floor of Felix's bedroom, throwing their bags and sleeping necessities in the corner. "So," Felix grinned, whipping out his laptop, "study?"

Jisung sighed, blinking tiredly as he turned his head to face Hyunjin who slept peacefully in the sleeping bag beside his. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't seem to fall asleep. Rain began to splatter on the window outside, and it slowly began lulling him to sleep.
A sharp clap of thunder boomed, shaking the house and causing his eyes to snap open. As much as he disliked rain, he was terrified of thunder. He didn't know if it was because of how loud it was, but something about it filled him with a sense of intense dread he couldn't quite fathom.
He slowly slipped out his phone, gnawing on his bottom lip as he gently pressed the home button.
2:37 AM.
He breathed out slowly, turning to look at his two friends, sound asleep. He was envious of them, because if he had been dozing, he wouldn't have had to feel the fear pumping through his veins in time with his erratic heartbeat.
Water. Just go get a glass of water. With that, he slowly stood up, and made his way to Felix's bedroom door, opening it as quietly as he possibly could,

"I... I like you... a lot..."
Minho's eyes snapped open and he let out a shaky breath when he realized that he was still in his bed, in his own house, staring up at the plain white ceiling. That view wasn't comforting, either, and he shot up, his head spinning with the speed.
"Wait... you're gay?"
The brunet sucked in a sharp breath, squeezing his eyes shut in hopes of blocking out the voices festering at the back of his mind. It's been five years, he told himself, he isn't here anymore. He let his eyes drift towards the bright red numbers displayed on his alarm clock.
2:37 AM.
"That's disgusting."
His eyes weighed heavy with fatigue, and yet he knew his mind was too restless to fall asleep again. Inhale, he reminded himself, taking a slow, steadying breath, exhale. As he let it loose, he pictured a waterfall behind his closed lids, forcing the negative thoughts that tormented his mind to wash away with the stream.
His shoulders suddenly felt lighter, and he continued the exercise until his breathing had steadied, and his thoughts calmed. He slowly opened his eyes, loosing a final heavy breath as he turned his gaze towards the window.
He hadn't even realized that water droplets had begun to fall from the sky. It was strange, how Jisung's words once again shot through his mind like a lightning bolt.
He heard a small sound, and he jumped slightly, not expecting anything to be coming from within the silent house. His eyebrows furrowed – the sound was too silent to wake anyone, and it almost seemed deliberate, not like a branch hitting a window due to the storm brewing outside.
He slowly slipped out of his bed, his feet softly landing on the cold floor. He crept towards the door, silently treading down the stairs and followed the sound to the kitchen. He flicked on the lights, squinting against the sudden brightness that engulfed his field of vision.
"Jisung?" he mumbled in confusion as he saw the younger boy rummaging through the cupboards in search of something. The said boy whirled around in shock, and Minho noticed how pale his face appeared.
"Are you okay?" the brunet questioned, causing the younger male to nod, although he was truly far from it. "I was just thirsty..." he trailed off, his eyes gliding to the tiled kitchen floor. Minho walked deeper into the kitchen, stopping right next to Jisung as he reached up and pulled open one of the cabinets that hadn't yet been ransacked, and reached inside to grab a cup.
He turned to the sink and filled it up, turning around just as another round of thunder echoed. He noticed the way Jisung flinched, and he attempted to hide his shaking by fidgeting with his hands.
Minho stared at him for a few moments unblinking, scrutinizing his reaction. The strawberry blonde could feel the older's gaze on him, and if anything it made him fidget even more. He looked up briefly through his lashes to meet the older's eyes, and he could feel heat creeping up his neck when they locked eyes.
Stop it, he reminded himself. He turned his gaze back towards the ground, when thunder rumbled overhead again. He bit his lip harshly, his heartbeat slowly filling his ears until it was all he could hear.
It resembled the harsh, unrelenting screeching of thunder, and he hated it. He squeezed his eyes shut, hoping to rid himself of the tears that were forming. He felt silly, just as he always did every time a storm rolled around.
Minho's hand gently wrapped around his wrist, silently pulling him out of the kitchen. He pushed the younger down onto the couch with the glass of water and sat next to him a fair distance away.
He looked between the table and Jisung multiple times before he awkwardly patted the boy's shoulder slowly. "It'll be alright," he mumbled, because deep down, they were the words he'd once wanted to hear, too.
