A New Feeling

A feeling I thought I buried,
Has now resurfaced.
I wondered and I wandered,
To find out the reason why.

Why do I feel alive?
I thought my heart was dead,
But, here it beats!
Torn, yet working.

I feel my lungs expanding and constricting,
Just like they used to!
I don't feel as suffocated as I did before.
I can feel the warmth in the air I exhale.

I can feel the cool wind caressing my skin and hair,
I can feel the softness of my clothes,
And the hard, cold metal chains of the swing.
I don't feel as numb as I used to.

As I wondered and wandered,
I saw the reason why,
The reason was right before my eyes,
The reason, was you.
