The Hanahaki Disease

A seed finds itself embedded in my lungs,
When I find out that this Love was one-sided.
I make no effort to remove it,
And now it grows its roots.
They creep through the tiny crevices of my lungs,
Wrapping around my ever beating heart.
Oh how it hurts!
This unrequited love,
Causes the shoots to climb up my lungs.
They take up space that is reserved for my oxygen,
It's making me gasp and pant as I walk.
The stems crawl up my bronchi,
And the blossoming flowers burst out of my mouth.
I am suffocating,
As I cough out the crimson petals.
With a tear-stained face,
I lay curled upon the ground,
With these cursed petals around me.
And as I draw my last ragged breath,
I learn that my cause of death would be ruled out as,
The Hanahaki Disease.
An illness born from one-sided love...
