If you knew from the start,
Why did you keep up the act?
I still replay every word you had said inside my head,
And it hurts.
I know I said I had let things go,
But in the deep dark nights of which I lay awake,
It comes back.
It always does.
I know I said goodbye,
But, here you are, popping into my mind like a jack-in-the-box.
Saying goodbye is easy,
But healing takes time.
It takes a lot of time,
Especially when one loses someone who they had trusted, loved and cared for a really long time.
