I felt a gust of wind as Temari floated gracefully toward the ground of the arena. I turned to look at Shikamaru, who was clearly stressed out. I wanted to yell to Naruto to give him a good push, but that is not what and ANBU serving under the Hokage would do.

"Kuraun!" I heard. Shikamaru. He was looking straight at me. Everyone else that knew me looked surprised to see me like this. I smirked under my mask and just shrugged, making him even more mad.

"Kuraun. Do you mind coming down here?" The Hokage asked. I uncrossed my legs and jumped down in between the Hokage and Kazekage.

"Yes, Hokage?"

"If you do not mind, I'd like you to be here. I have an odd feeling." He whispered to me. I nodded, and sat right where I stood, a little in front of the two thrones.

"Yeah, Shikamaru!" Naruto yelled as he accidentally shoved Shikamaru off the railing and into the arena. I resisted the urge to laugh as I looked at him sprawled on the ground. Then there came the booing and throwing things in response to when he didn't get up. I knew what he was thinking, and I couldn't help but smile, proud of his thoughts. I looked at the crowd and scowled, even though only I knew I was.

Soon enough, Temari got impatient and launched an attack on my lazy friend. I sighed. They are so meant for each other.

Shikamaru easily ran out from under her attack and to the wall. I just couldn't bring myself to close my eyes and meditate, I had to at least watch this battle, if I wasn't going to watch any more.

With every attack she threw at him, he kept speeding off into the shadows. Figures. He's that type of guy.

"I am intrigued in the lack of initiative with this genin." Orochimaru commented. I smiled under my mask.

"Shikamaru Nara is one of the laziest people I know. However, he is also one of the smartest. He knows that this match is quite pointless if it gives him more work. However, his pride is too important to him. He cannot simply be beaten by a woman without trying." I explained. He looked towards me, and I kept looking ahead at my friend. I heard the Hokage chuckle. I couldn't help but smile myself, not at Orochimaru's reaction, but at Shikamaru's strategy.

"Then can you tell me why he, a Konoha shinobi of the Nara clan, lacks so much initiative?" I shrugged, following the stretching shadow as it threatened to stop Temari.

"Strategizing doesn't take much physical movement. That's his type. If it requires too much physical movement, he's out." I resisted the urge to laugh. Shikamaru and I were similar, in our laziness. In our slow working. In our strategizing. However, if our purpose for doing something physical is more than entertainment for others, and is quite personal and "noble" we will do what it takes. I closed my eyes as Temari jumped back for the second time, avoiding the parachute Shikamaru had made.

I couldn't compare myself so someone as good as Shikamaru. I was a sick, twisted, horrible person who didn't deserve to be praised by anyone. I opened my eyes again as Temari had fallen right into his trap, and was planning to make a move.

"Checkmate." I whispered so only I could hear. A couple seconds after I said it, Temari froze in her hand signs. Everyone was speechless as he made her walk closer to him. In all honesty, I half expected him to make her kiss him. Then I remembered, not a thing yet. They're enemies.
