Wake up Jimmy, it’s morning
She whispers into his ears,
But Jimmy lay cold still at the edge of his bed.
He didn’t speak, neither did he move.
She drew closer to him, placing her head on his chest
Are you still angry over the way I spoke to you yesterday?
I’m really sorry, it won’t happen again, I promise.
It’s just that, you make me really mad sometimes, you know.
Then I just can’t control the things I say.
She reaches over, giving him a peck on his cheek.
You’re just like your dad, you know; both just so stubborn.
She whispers even closer into his ears,
Why do you think I killed him?
She asks, smiling maliciously.
Now come, mummy is going to give you a bathe.
She raises him up, stripping him out of his pyjamas,
And into the bath tub, giving him a foam bathe.
Smile for mummy, she whispers.
There!
she smiles, widening his cheeks with her fingers.
Now was that so hard jimmy?
She wipes him clean with a towel,
Carrying him in her hands, as she rocked him gently to his room.
She slips on him, his favourite red ‘25’ Jersey,
With a matching pair of blue shorts.
Combing his hair gently,
She perfumes him with the best collections in her closet.
There! Don't you look dazzling, my dear?
Just be patient, I’ll soon make breakfast.
Today, you’ll be having breakfast in bed.
Seconds turned into minutes,
But breakfast was brought before a five.
She returns with a plate of waffles,
And a glass of orange juice.
Now eat your food Jimmy, you know how mommy gets.
Be sure to finish your food before I get back.
Minutes later, she returns, but Jimmy hadn’t move a waffle.
Jimmy, Why haven’t you finished your waffle?
She asks, with a flush of anger in her voice.
Why won’t you eat your breakfast Jimmy? Answer me!
Are you still mad about yesterday? I told I was sorry,
So why won’t you eat your waffles?
You don’t want to make mommy angry do you?
Now be a good boy and open your mouth.
She gets over to the bed,
Here Jimmy, eat your food.
She grabs the plate of waffles,
Swings his jaw forcefully open,
Stuffing waffles in his mouth, and pouring in orange juice.
But Jimmy didn’t chew, neither did he drink.
Why won’t you eat your food Jimmy?
Answer me, why?
She yells.
Don’t just sit there, answer me!
She screams at the top of her voice,
Flinging the glass cup in her hands towards him.
The glass cup scatters against the surface of the wall,
Only missing him by just an inch.
Why Jimmy? Answer me why? Why won’t you eat your food Jimmy? Just tell me why?
She screams again, this time bursting into tears.
Why won’t you eat your food Jimmy? Just tell me why?
She turns around screaming at the top of her voice,
Smashing everything around her.
Finally, she stops in front of a mirror.
You like seeing me cry don’t you?
You enjoy seeing my weakness don’t you?
She clenches her fist, and punches hard against the mirror.
Immediately, she starts bleeding profusely.
You’re happy now aren’t you? Aren’t you?!
Screaming at the top of her voice, she dashes towards him.
She reaches for his neck with her hands, squeezing tight his throat,
In an attempt to choke him to death.
But Jimmy was long dead in a car crash a year ago,
And so was she.
