Meeting my Modern Family

Luke's POV February 13 17:00

I walk up to my room and when I open the door Leah is up and searching through her bags for something to wear. I can see that she is really stressed.
"Hey babe." She says as she sorts through her things.
"You sleep well?" I ask.
"Yeah but I can't find anything nice to wear to impress your family." She says clearly stressed while still searching threw her bag. I put my hand on hers and stop her from searching.
"Baby, you look great in everything." I say and then I see her start to blush.
"Thanks babe your so sweet." She says placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Can I help?" I ask trying to get her to calm down.
"Actually yes, which dress the black or navy." She say looking at the dress.
"Leah, you look sexy in anything." I say hugging her.
"What did I do to deserve you?," she says blushing and hugging me tighter. "But I got to change so." She say pushing me playfully by my shoulders.
"Okay, Okay I'm outside just call me cause I also need to Change." I say putting up my hand in mock defense and walking out the door.

Leahs POV February 13 17:30

I put the dress on and look in the mirror. It's cute. I am really nervous about tonight. It is my first time meeting most of Luke's family in person. I just want to impress them. Just then There Is a knock at the door.
"Leah it's us do you need some help?" They say from the hallway.
"Yeah sure come in," I say opening the door.
"What do you think?" I ask nervously
"Oh my God, wow you remind me of me when I was your age." Haley says.
"Yeah you look great." Alex adds.
"Thanks guys."
"Our brothers a lucky guy." Haley says. It makes me blush. I just Smile and look down.
"Okay well we have to go get ready." Alex's says winking at Haley.
"Oh yeah, we have to go." Alex says.
They slowly walk out and call Luke. He walks in. And smiles as he sees me.
"So, what do you think." I say looking down.
"I think my smoking hot girlfriend is rocking that super sexy dress." He says putting his arms around me. He than swoops me up and plus me into a kiss.
"I love you Luke dunphy." I say looking into his deep brown eyes.
"I love you too Leah."

He takes off his fancy shirt he picked me up in an puts on another fancy shirt. It is navy like my dress. I couldn't help but notice his six pack.
"Oh my man has style." I say with a smirk.
I kiss him again. He kisses me back passionately but I break the kiss. "Luke wait I have to do my make up."
He sits thier and watches me do my make up.
"Wait a minute. You weren't wearing make up on the plane."
"Yip." I say before putting on my lipstick.
"Just when I thought you couldn't get any more perfect." He says with a smirk
I kiss him on the cheek and it leaves a mark. He wipes it off and kisses me on the lips.

Claires POV 13 February 18:00

"Kids! Come on we are going to be late, again." I yell from downstairs.

For the first time Luke was the only one ready. Him and Leah were sitting next to each other on the sofa in the den. He was barely ever on his phone anymore. Leah was wearing a navy dress and Luke a navy shirt to match. I remember when Phil and I were that cute.

"Wow Luke your ready." I say surprised.
"Yeah, are the girls ready?" I can see he is excited for Leah to meet everyone.
Just then Haley and Alex walk into the den.
"Wow you guys are ready." Alex says clearly surprised.
"Come let's get going." I say before leading everyone out the house.
"Phil, honey!" I scream from the car
"Coming!" He says running down the stairs he trips on the broken step.
"Oh my god is okay?" Leah says running in to help him.
"He is never going to fix that step."Haley adds before getting in the car.
"I'm fine, its the step it's been broken for awhile," Phil says getting up.
"Yeah Like 10 years," Alex comments while leaning on the doorstep.

Eventually we all get in the car and make it to my dads house. I look over my shoulder and see leah with a nervous expression on her face.

"Hey, hon you okay."
"Yeah I'm fine." I can see by her playing with her necklace and the way she is smiling that she is lying
"Honey I know a fake smile when I see one." I say trying to comfort her.
"It's nothing I'm just worried. You guys are great, really great, and I just want to impress you. I met you over the phone and I didn't know it was possible but you are even nicer in person. I just want you too know I really do love Luke..." she starts to stress and what seems like a panic attack. I pull her into a hug.
"Honey you are a wonderful girl. They will love you and I love you," I say trying to comfort her.
"Thank you Mrs Dunphy I really needed that." She says as she pulls away
"Of course and what did I say at the airport," I say smiling at her.
"To call you Claire," she says smiling back at me. I place a hand on her shoulder just as Luke gets out of the car.
"You okay baby?" Luke says as he places a hand on her waist.
"Yeah I'm fine." She says with a smile. I can see Luke knows she is nervous.

Leah's POV February 13 19:00

This is it. I know I have met most of the family over the phone but I am still really nervous to see them in person. Luke has really helped and supported me. I have to walk in. The door opens and we all go in. Breath in breath out I tell myself.

"Hello" Claire says.
"Hello, Ai where is she." I hear Mrs Pritchett ask Claire.
"She's coming with Luke." I hear Claire say.

Luke takes my hand and we walk inside. I still can't believe I am standing next to him in person and that we no longer have to talk over the phone all the time. I look at Mr and Mrs Pritchett.
"Mr and Mrs Pritchett." I say with a smile.
"You make me feel old please call me Gloria."
"Yeah and you can call me jay." I see Luke smile at Jay through the corner of my eye.

I turn to the other Mr Pritchett and Mr tucker

"Mr Pritchett, Mr tucker." I say with a smile.
Please call me Cam. I'm not old" he says with a giggle and pulled me into a hug.
"And please call me Mitch, my dad is Mr Pritchett," he says shaking my hand.

I nod with a smile.
"This is Manny my best friend, and my um..."
"Uncle." Manny interrupts him with a smile.

I just laugh.

"It's really nice to meet you." I think manny was the only family member I hadn't met.

I look to lily who I actually met quite a while ago Luke was babysitting her and she spoke with me and Luke for at least 3 hours. She was really sweet. We actually spoke quite a lot after that. She ran up to me and gave me a hug. Everyone was kind of shocked which surprised me.

"Did she just hug you?" Mitch asks.
"Yeah." I say with a smile.
"Oh my god. She hasn't hugged anyone for at least a year." Cam says. I can see he is tearing up.
"She must be really special Luke." Mitch says with a smile but I know that deep down he is hurt.
I couldn't help but feel bad. Lily tells me everything boys and all. Not that I could help much I didn't have any experience with boys.

I look in the corner and see Joe and he walks over to me and silks his hair back. I can't help but giggle. "You must be Joe," I say giving him a hug.
"I've never been more happy." He whispers in my ear. Making me laugh.
"Down boy." Jay says. Gloria gives him a look.
"Hey that's my girl." Luke says kissing me on the head. Joe frowns and winks at me making everyone laugh.

His family is so nice. I felt so accepted. My mom calls me. They are just waking up there.

"I am so sorry I have to take this,it's my mom."
I walk into the hall. Luke has met my family through FaceTime. He loves them and they love him. Luke comes with me and I awnser the phone.
"Hey mom how are you?" I ask smiling at her,
"I am great how was your flight. Oh hi Luke."
"Hi Mrs James." Luke reply's as he snakes his arm around my waist and I try to contain my giggle.
"Please how many times do I have to tell you to call me Lily. It's great to see you two together," She says smiling at him.
"Listen mom I will call you when we get home I am having dinner at Luke's grandpas house."
"Oh okay, gees already, you better call me later." She says to us.
"I will Love you mom bye."
"Bye Mrs.. I mean Lily." Luke says making me laugh.
"Bye you too love you Leah." She says with a smile.
"Luke, Leah! dinners ready." I hear Gloria call.

We all sit down and talk for about an hour they asked me about South Africa and Dylan asked me about my accent. It was all going really well. I had calmed down and I don't think I have laughed that much in one night before mostly because of Luke. He is a funny guy. Alex and I have so much in common. Haley is so sweet. Luke told me that she wasn't like that before she got pregnant but I don't believe him. After a couple hours the Joe starts to get grumpy and it was best if we all go home.
