I banged the bracelet against the headboard of the bed in one more effort to get it off. I knew it wouldn't do anything but I had to try. It was driving me crazy. I didn't have heighted smell, sight, strength or hearing. I couldn't heal as fast and I definitely couldn't shift. It was pissing me off to put it politely. Which is why I called in backup..

I walked down the stairs and stopped halfway to see Tristan holding a guy against the wall by his neck. His eyes were black and he was snarling. Everyone was gathered around trying to get Tristan to let go but he refused.

"I don't like humans on my territory, especially strangers." He growled, his canines extended. I've never whipped my gun out so fast.

"Let him go." I demanded. Tristan looked up at me and somehow only looked angrier.

"You'd shoot me because of a human?" He sneered clutching the guy's neck tighter.

"I may not have my werewolf abilities but I'm still a damn good shot and I will shoot you if you don't let him go."

"So you would shoot me." He glared and then turned his attention back to the guy.

"Maybe I should just kill you." He shrugged.

I cocked my gun, "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into here Tristan."

He looked at me when I said his name, but he wouldn't back off.

"Enlighten me." His grip only got tighter and I saw the guy struggling to breathe.

"He's not a stranger, he's a friend." Everyone looked up in surprise.

"Not only that, but he's the soulmate of a very old and very powerful fae friend of mine. One you don't want to piss off. I asked them to come here. He came into town first to make sure it was safe enough for her. Not let him go or I will shoot you."

Tristan seemed to be struggling with himself but finally he released his grip.

"Archer you okay?" I asked slowly making my way towards him. I wasn't pointing the gun at Tristan anymore but I was ready in case he tried anything.

"Fine." He choked out.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"She'll be here in three, two, one." And the doors opened on cue.

She was beautiful in an off way. Not beautiful the way werewolves were. She was over seven feet tall. Her skin was as pale as a vampire's, in our realm she used glamour to conceal herself, but in her realm where she was free to be her, her skin was a more pastel purple that glimmered. Her features were much more angled than ours and her eyes matched the color of her real skin. And she more like glided as she walked. She held an air of power and authority. The fae no longer had rulers, but if they did she would be part of that hierarchy.

"Emma," She smiled, her voice soft yet always held that aura of power, "Always protecting what's mine. Will I ever be out of your debt?" She teased.

"Daina." I smiled.

She looked at Archer who was still sucking in huge breaths of air. Her gaze sliced through Tristan who didn't even flinch.

"I should kill you on the spot for hurting him." Her voice still soft but no one missed the seriousness of her words.

"Try me." He taunted and her face darkened.

"That's enough." I ordered.

"Lets go to the kitchen, Archer I'll get you something to drink." He nodded and they followed me.

He sat down and gulped the water I gave him. Daina stood behind him protectively. Tristan stood somewhat behind me, and then Stacey and Jace were to the right of me staring at Diana.
