McCree gets confused.
Narrator POV:
Jesse McCree,
You sure know how to keep a women waiting.
Nothing has really happened in Deadlock so far. A few things stolen here and there, we're on the lay low right now just so authorities don't chase us down. We had to do that after you were captured. We don't want history repeating itself this time around.
By the time your reading this, I'll be close to the Route 66 area. Not exactly there but close by. If you want to meet up for lunch or dinner let me know.
(Ashe's Phone Number)
I trust that you won't use this intel on the police or so help me, I'll rip off your other arm with my own bare hands.
Sincerely,
Ashe
McCree let out a chuckle from his hotel room. He was sitting on the mattress of his bed, his BAMF belt hanging on the (bed thing pole) along with his hat. Not too long ago, a deadlock agent knock on the door and gave McCree Ashe's letter. "Always impatient, I see?" McCree mumbled to himself as her rubbed his cyborg hand through his messy brown hair. His gaze looked at the hotel phone, "She'd want me to call her right now. Or maybe I should wait just to drive her mad?" This thought made him smirk. "And she couldn't hit me through the phone." He picked up the black phone anyways, and put the numbers in. After a few seconds, Ashe picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello to you to Ashe."
"McCree. So I take your interested in my offer."
"You could just call it a date, Ashe. You make it sound like you're selling drugs."
"It's not a date, we're just hanging out together as old friends."
"How drunk were you on Christmas Eve?"
"Very. Now where do you want to go?"
"For the date, I think the old diner in 66."
"Really? Their coffee tastes like dirt, Jesse, and you want to go there?"
"Well, where do you suppose we go?"
"I was thinking about trying out a new café near the city. Much more fancier there than that diner."
"Are you still a little bitter after our little reunion there a few months ago?"
Ashe let out a huff,"Fine! We can go to that stupid diner!"
"It's a date then."
"It's not a date, Jesse."
"Whatever. I'll see there at 11:30 today."
"Alright. Bye Jesse, I lo-" Ashe stopped herself before a full sentence could come out.
McCree jumped at the words. He smirk now a smug grin. "Don't leave me hanging, Ashe."
"MCCREE I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL RIP OFF YOUR CYBORG ARM AND BEAT YOU WITH IT!"
"...See you on the date."
"IT'S NOT A-"
McCree hung up the phone, chuckling to himself in the empty walls of the hotel room. Looking at the time on the old digital clock, it read 8:43 am. "Super impatient." he mumbled. He was up by the time he got the letter, he's been having trouble sleeping since the reunion with Ashe. Every memory of Deadlock started to crawl into his mind: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Even for one moment when he thinks he'll get some shut eye, he goes back to when he and Ashe were on better terms. Now, he doesn't know where he stands with her. Are they a thing? Could he change her mind on the whole gang? No, he knew she wouldn't listen. She never does. Maybe he should call off the date, keep his distance. Pretend that nothing happened between them. But he couldn't. Not again.
