Chapter 19→ Ray

We were back at my moms in the backyard having a little lunch to celebrate my achievements. My whole family had made it so it was prettt crowded in the back.

I walked outside to see everyone having fun and mingling. I was grabbed by Brandon as he swung me around

"You look delicious" he growled in my ear
"Hold your horses now Mr Arreaga" I giggled pushin him slightly away
"I might not be able to" he laughed

Just as I was about to respond my father came towards us. Congratulating me one last time before turning towards Brandon

"So this is the man who speaks such volumes about my daughter" He smiled
"That's me sir" Brandon smiled looking at me
"Why haven't you told me about him?" He asked looking at me
"I guess I never came around to it" I shrugged

My father furrowed his eyebrows deeply
"Why are you keeping secrets from me Ray?" He asked
"What- no! What makes you think that?" I asked slightly taken back
"You never told me about this young gentleman-
"MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE NEVER AROUND" I snapped now fed up with this act
"You missed half my birthdays. Missed my high school graduation. Broke my moms heart and upset her today and you think arriving to one event SOBER is gonna fix it all?" I asked backing away from him

"Tell me what you want then my Raysin" he sighed using my childhood nickname
"I want my parents back. I want you two to coexist without upsetting the other. I want you to be in my life dad and not be some half arsed father!" I said tears running down my face

He looked taken back by my requests. By now everyone's attention was on us
"My rayson I love you so much" he said. I knew every time he said it it wasn't entirely true which made my blood boil over
"Well I can do you one better dad. I don't" I said before turning on my heel and running upstairs to my room
