Chapter 73 → Rayaan

"I'll hold the rest of the bags and you get Alaia" I instructed Nick
"You sure you wanna go?" Nick asked for the thousandth time
"Yes Nicky! Now mush!" I smiled clapping my hands

This morning we got a prominent phone call from Nick's aunt, telling us about the surprise birthday party they were planning for Nick's grandmother and asked for Nick to attend and Nick being his usual extra self decided to string me along. As I loaded the boot with the rest of the bags I heard the door click and some keys jingle before a baby's giggle was heard

"You like it when daddy locks the door?" Nick questioned the giggling baby girl making me smile

I unlocked my phone, taking a video of Nick and Alaia playing with the house keys as Alaia giggled at her fathers dumb actions. I ended the video before making my way towards them with a smile on my face

"Do you like it when daddies an idiot" I said grabbing Alaia from Nick's grasp
"Ouch babe" Nick said placing a hand on his chest and pouting
"Love you too" I said giving his pouty lips a kiss before making my way to the car

Nick hopped into the drivers side, turning the engine on as I strapped Alaia in.

"Okay, do we have the formula? And did we pack sun screen, I heard Jersey is hot this time of the year, and swim suits? Oh god did we even pack-
"Babe" Nick smiled
"Yeah" I asked
"You're waffling again" he said as her let out a small airy laugh
"Sorry, I just wanna make sure everything is in that Alaia needs. I don't need your mom telling me I'm an incompetent mom" I sighed rubbing my temples

"No matter what anyone says, you are not an incompetent mother Rayaa" Nick smiled taking my head in his large hands
"Not even your mom?" I said in a baby voice?"
"Not even my mom" Nick smiled

*at Nick's moms house

After a few hours of karaoke and pit stops because Alaia began getting restless and Nick needing to pee like a pregnant woman we had finally made it to Jersey and Nick's mom's house. We were only a few hours late which only heightened my anxiety.

"Do I look okay? I think my dress is too short maybe I should go to a hotel and change! Nick I-
"Rayaan! Stop you look great baby" Nick said cutting off my ramble
"But what if your mom blames the lateness on me-
"Stop. Worrying. Ma!" Nick said giving me a kiss in between each word
"Fine" I sighed

I grabbed Alaia before making my way in the house. Nick's mother opened the door, greeting Nick with a hug before kissing him.

"Aww my baby!" She shrieked pinching his cheeks
"Hello mom" Nick answered smiling a little
"Hey hey, don't give me attitude! You hardly visit so excuse me for being excited for seeing my son" she scolded

I stood there awkwardly with Alaia playing with my hair, not knowing what to do

"Uhh, ma, this is Rayaan. My girlfriend and baby momma" Nick introduces
"Awww my granddaughter!" She said taking Alaia from me.

Alaia looked at her puzzled before wailing. I silently thanked her for being fussy with who held her

"Hello Rayaan, it's nice to finally meet the girl who has finally gotten my Nicky to behave!" She smiled to me
"Well its  ple-
"Now here's an apron, they need hands to make the salsa." She said grabbing me by the hand and leading me to the kitchen

I looked at Nick with pleading eyes before being whisked away

*at night

I plopped on the bed, absolutely exhausted from the day's events.

"Awww mommy's tired" Nick said
"Shut up Nick" I said "why are you shirtless if Alaia was the one bathing?"
"Just cause" Nick said making me cock an eyebrow "okay, she splashed water on me"
"Thought so" I said tiredly grabbing a shirt from the suitcase

As Nick put Alaia to bed in his old crib, I had already gotten my make up off and hair up. Nick made his way to the bed, pulling me into his chest as I laid

"I'm glad you had a good day princess" Nick said
"My nails reek of onion" I complained
"But hey, mom has never let anyone into her kitchen so this is a step in the right direction"
"I better get the pot of gold at the end of this hard rainbow" I huffed
