Chapter 42 → Brandon

I walked into the hospital, a bunch of flowers in hand and balloons. The surgery went successfully and Ray was to wake up at any moment and I was ready to receive her with open arms.

"Morning Mr Arreaga" the nurse smiled as she walked out of Ray's room
"How many times do I have to tell you it's Brandon Angela" I laughed
"Sorry Brandon" she laughed rolling her eyes playfully

I let out an airy laugh as I entered Ray's room.

"Morning Brandon" Sister Jemma said as she took down Ray's vitals
"Morning Sister" I greeted as I shoved the flowers Zion got into the garbage and replaced them with fresh sunflowers
"How's she?" I asked sitting next to Ray's bed
"She's progressing, her body isn't rejecting the blood so far which means we're in the green" she said
"When do you think she's gonna wake up?" I asked nevously
"Anytime between today, tomorrow, next week, next month even next year. It's nothing definate, it's all up to her" sister jemma smiled as she tapped Ray's nose with the pen

Ray's done a whole bunch better, the tubes have lessened and her bruises and swelling has gone down a tremendous amount. She looks more like herself aside from the busted lip and cut on her eyebrow.

"Well, I'll be on my way, have fun tryna wake up sleeping beauty" she laughed walking out

I grabbed Ray's hand, stroking it gently as I looked at her sleeping face, she looked so peaceful, as though she hadn't endured all that pain for over a month.

"Ray, I don't know if you hear me or not but I just wanted you to know how much I love you. The first day I met you I instantly knew I had to make you mine in some way, and even when we were fighting all I wanted was to be in your presence. You bring the good out of me, make me giddy, like I'm still in 6th grade" I said letting out a small laugh

"God you'd probably have a smart comeback for that" I smiled
"She would" a voice said

I looked back to see Zion at the doorway with some food

"Hey bro" he said handing me the bag of Mc Donald's
"Thanks" I said grabbing the nuggets "Ray's favorite" I smiled
"Yeah, thought you wanted the same because you guys are practically the same" Zion said smiling gently

I looked down and the nugget before taking a bite out of it
"So Ray and I could be siblings" Zion said breaking the silence "you okay with that?"

I looked up at him, pushing my glasses back up my nose
"Okay? I'm ecstatic, at least that's one less guy she's close to that she might not fuck" I said

Zion looked at me horrified
"What?" I asked
"She's not fucking any one else besides you Brandon!" He said "can you not see that or are you too up Charlottes ass to realize that"
"Don't bring her into this" I said through gritted teeth
"Or what!" Zion said

I ran from across Ray's bed, flinging myself towards Zion, landing punch's before he turned us over and landed a couple of punches himself, snapping my glasses in two and shattering the glass

Before I knew it I was being pulled off Zion

"You're nothing but a cheat!" I spat at him
"Cheat? Pretty rich coming from the Asian looking ass who cheating on the one girl who cared about him!" Zion said "do you know how heart broken she was at the honeymoon when you went off with Charlotte. And when she found out you fucked Charlotte she wouldn't eat!"
"Shut up! You're nothing but a loose druggie-
"Who cleaned up because he cared for his wife!" Zion said

"You're the reason Ray is here! You're the reason your unborn baby is dead Brandon!" Zion yelled

I tried to wriggle out of Nick's grasp to run up to Zion who was being held back by Aaliyah and Austin but failed as Rayaan and him pulled me out of the room.

Rayaan pulled the first aid kit out and sat me down as she dabbed my scars, mumbling a quick "sorry" as I winced

"Thanks" I mumbled looking up

Rayaan sighed, setting the kit beside her and looking at me
"Do you want Ray to wake up to this?" She asked
"No" I said blankly
"Then why are you doing this Brandon, you're grieving just like the rest of us okay-
"No! The rest of you have no idea how it feels like to lose the love of your life-
"Actually I do" Rayaan snapped back "the world doesn't revolve around you Brandon"
"I know but my world revolves around Ray"
