~ one year later ~

Your POV

I couldn't believe it! One whole year had passed since the boys and I had gotten together. I even became friends with Thomas after the whole beach trip. Nobody knew about that, though, except for Amara, (B/F/N) and John -who had found out on complete accident, but bless him for being okay with it).

Everything was going pretty well right now, except for the fact that Alex, Laf, and Herc all had oh-so-convenient nighttime schedule. So that left John and I at my place watching Disney.

Leaning against John's side, I pulled my phone out of my pocket when it dinged.

Messages
Thomas: Hey (Y/N)!

I opened the notification, unlocking my phone.

(N/N): Hey Thomas! What's up?

Thomas: I was wondering if you were free to hang out? Maybe tomorrow?

(N/N): Yeah! When tomorrow?

Thomas: Around like 4:30?

(N/N): Works for me. Cya then!

Thomas: Awesome! See ya tomorrow!

I shut my phone off again, turning back to the movie.

"Thomas?" John asked after a moment.

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Should I be worried?" he teased.

I snickered. "No. He's clearly gay for James. Their PDA is through the roof."

John chuckled. "At least we know he won't flirt with you."

"Yeah. Just don't tell Alex. Not yet," I responded, turning to look at him.

John nodded. "I won't, chickadee. Don't worry."

~ at Thomas's the next day ~

It was just after dinner. Thomas and I were sat on his couch. Thomas had told me James was at work so it was just us two. Thomas kept a respectable distance and for a bit I wondered why him and Alex fought so much; Thomas seemed like a pretty good man.

After a moment, I watched Thomas pull a small black box off the coffee table. It didn't take long for it to sink in and I bit back a smile.

"Are you, Thomas Jefferson, finally deciding to 'settle down' in your lifetime?"

Thomas chuckled. "That is in fact what I'm doing, (Y/N) (L/N)."

I couldn't help but smile. "He's so gonna say yes. If he doesn't I'm gonna, like, make him."

He laughed again. "I hope it won't come down to that."

"Me neither. You got this in the bag, Thomas. Just, don't screw up big time."

"I think I got it, but no promises."

~ later ~

I entered my apartment after leaving Thomas and James's, surprised to see all four of my boyfriends there.

"What are you four doing here? Had I known you were plotting this, I wouldn't have gone out!"

"I thought you said you'd be here," Alex spoke, something cold behind his usual calm tone.

"I thought so too, but surprise errands," I lied, lifting up my bag.

"By surprise errands, do you mean 'hanging out with Jefferson'?"

...sh*t.

I glanced at John briefly, who's eyes said "I didn't tell him anything". "No! Why would I be doing that?"

"Oh, I don't know, because Jeffersh*t can't keep his mouth shut during work, and I just so happened to overhear him talking with Madison!"

"Lex, it's not the end of the world.. He just wanted to show me--"

"'Not the end of the world'? (Y/N), for Christ's sake this is my sworn enemy we're talking about! Why the hell would you be even talking with him in the first place?!"

"I'm sorry, Alex, but just because you can't stand him, doesn't mean I can't associate with him!" I responded.

"(Y/N), why were you there?" Herc asked after a moment.

'Him too? For f*ck's sake...'

"Thomas just asked me if I wanted to hang out with him, is all. Like I said, not that big a deal, guys!" I answered.

"For all we know, you could be up to something else," Alex shot back.

I was taken aback to say the least. "Are you accusing me of cheating?"

"There's no proof against it," he replied coolly.

I threw my hands up. "And there's no proof of it! For f*ck's sake, Alex, he's dating James! He even showed me a ring!"

"Trying to cover up for him, huh? Is there really proof on your side here?"

"Alex, you're seriously blowing this up. I--"

"What? You're gonna give me yet another excuse as to why you wouldn't possibly be cheating on us? Hell, there's nothing saying you weren't even badmouthing us behind our backs! There's nothing against the fact that you could possibly be doing things with each other, or making out! Nothing!"

"This is out of proportion! Can't any of you see?! I love you guys, damnit! Why would I even cheat in the first place?!"

To my dismay, the other three seemed to be too surprised to say anything. Even John, who I thought could possibly help me in this.

"Well, until we can know for sure, why don't you consider your part in the relationship with us," Alex responded coldly.

I was startled. Was he seriously threatening to kick me out of the relationship?

"Fine. Goddamnit, fine! Have a happy relationship without me if that's how you're going to be, Alexander!"

I turned away from them, moving quickly to the door. I had long since dropped my bag, so I just went for it. About halfway out the door, I felt a hand graze mine, but I knew for sure it wasn't Alex.

Why I was running out of my own apartment, I didn't know. I didn't know what to think at the moment.

Running outside of my complex, I pulled out my phone, texting my first contact with watery eyes.

(N/N): I'm going to your place. Wait for me

Amara: Is everything alright?

(N/N): I'll explain when I get there

I shoved my phone back in my pocket and started running again, right as I heard footsteps behind me. I didn't bother looking back.

I brushed past people, making it to one of the crosswalks to Amara's complex.

In my weird haze, I didn't even bother stopping. My brain was yelling at me to stop running, but my legs kept moving.

"Miss! Watch out!"

CRASH!

Time seemed to stop for a split second as I finally saw the car. Everything sped up again when I felt the collision.

The car hit me at nearly at the rate it had been driving at, which hurt. A lot. I felt myself travel a couple yards and land on my arm wrong., nearly hitting my head as well.

It didn't take me long to feel the blood, or to see it. The deep crimson slowly trickling around me and across the black road. I didn't see it for long though, only hearing loud voices as black starting seeping across my eyes.

Out of all the voices, though, one stood out to me. I'd recognize it anywhere, even now as I slipped into a peaceful, dark silence.

"(Y/N)!"
