chapter 14 ➳ join the pack

"Benefits?" I laugh at his request.

I keep my arms over my chest listening.

"So like Friends with Benefits?" I ask he nods slowly.

I shake my head not believing him.

"Look, it sounds crazy--" he begins.

"No it's absurd! If Scott catches us--" I whisper in a frightening voice.

"He won't. Look Kayla, I just, I know you felt something with that kiss and you know I know you think the same thing about me. I don't know why I can't get you out of my mind. I just -- I iust don't want to hurt you and if that means I just get to have something small with you, I-I'll take it -- Just please consider it." he caresses my cheek making me nod.

I'm considering.

"Let me think about your dumb idea." I say making his eyes give a roll.

"Can you at least kiss me one last time?" He smirks dreamily standing by the door.

His hands stuffed in his pockets, his maroon slightly loose slightly tight shirt made me swoon.

"You're going a little over board don't you think lover boy." I chuckle.

He shakes his head smirking.

"Not at all sweetheart." He winks nearing me.

I slowly felt his lips once again connect to mine.

It felt amazing to get to touch them.

He slowly pulls away, his forehead leans on mine.

"Give me a week pretty boy." I push him lightly off.

He nods before walking out.

God Kayla.

that night

I saw Scott shuffle around the room.

I listen in.

"You sure this is gonna work?" I heard Liam's voice.

"I hope." Scott's voice was shaky.

"If we wanna know who the benefactor is, we have to kill someone from the list." Scott says slowly.

"and I have a plan." He whispers.

my eyes slightly widen.

"Kira, you can do this."

I heard him tell her, she was a kitsune, Scott had told me the day we went to the carnival.

They were leaning against a table set with three computers.

he was going to 'die.'

He's an idiot.

I walk in casually.

"Kayla, what are you doing?" Scott asks as I walk over.

"I'm helping you idiot."

He smiles.

"No you're not. You are going to stay here. Understood?" He says. I lean against the small table.

Liam, Kira, and Stiles stare at me amazed.

How could I stand up to Scott?

"See, you need me more than you think." I say shrugging.

"What could you possibly do?" He says leaning down on the table as well.

"Scott you underestimate me." I whisper.

I sit up straight.

I look around.

Perfect.

Control Kayla, you got this.

"See if we ever wanna escape.." I drift off. I snap my fingers creating a portal.

Their eyes widen.

"It'll take you anywhere you desire." I smile.

"Kayla." Scott begins.

"what else can you do?" Stiles asks cutting Scott off.

I close the portal.

"I can command forcefields around us. I can do spells. Create potions. Read minds. Manipulate." I smirk.

"She's good." Kira breaths out.

"Come on Scott! We need her." Stiles says.

Scott looks me in the eyes.

"Fine." He says.

I grin.

I heard Melissa's loud shriek throughout the hospital.

"You guys sure this is gonna work?" I ask slightly nervous.

"No. But it's worth a try." Stiles shrugs.

Melissa walks in wiping her eyes.

"I still hate this plan." She breaths out.

We all were looking down at Scott's lifeless body.

45 minutes they say, we have 45 minutes.

"KAYLA!"

"KAYLA WAKE UP!"

"KAYLA, COME ON!"

I heard the loud voice push me awake.

I look up to see the blurry figure.

"You're okay, come on!" It was Liam.

I stood up.

Liam pulls on my arm.

I look up at the skeleton like figure following us..

I face it.

"Stand back." I say.

"What?!" He exclaims.

"Stand back!" I yell.

He does.

I take my wand out.

Think of something you hate ..

Conner.

my eyes began glowing, the power rushing through me.

"Free him Free him Free him." I whisper the magic to myself.

I stick my wand out the power coming out zapping straight at the figure.

It wasn't working.

Think of something Kayla.

Got it.

"Let him be, let him freeze!" I exclaim.

My wand zaps through him.

I felt the weight on my shoulders.

It was overwhelming.

Come on Kayla.

I slowly lift the figure with my wand and drop it.

I froze it. For now.

The spell should wear off in about 30 minutes.

I turn to face Liam.

"Run." I say.

He grips onto my arm and pulls me along..

I look at my watch.

3 minutes.
