This took place after Dong Shancai and DaomingSi's hunger strike (episode 47-48 on Netflix)
A few weeks had passed since the Daoming Feng fiasco, AhSi's mother had decided to abdicate and to accept Shancai as her son's girlfriend and even as his fiancée. The two lovebirds had bravely did hunger strike during many days (F4's other members had renamed this as "suicide mission") and everybody had discovered the Daoming group's heir's project, "Embrace your Dreams" which should save the group from bankruptcy. All of that had helped the stone-hearted businesswoman to make a decision.
It was time to talk about the "Happy ending"... but the hunger strike had weakened Ah Si a lot and Shancai. When their rebellion had ended, the two young people had been sent to hospital at once. With all these feelings, even Daoming Feng had fainted and she remained unconscious for a week confined in her bedroom to sleep. Her eldest child, Daoming Zhuang had travelled every day between hospital and Daoming's mansion to take care of her family members and to be sure her brother and Shancai recovered and to try to wake her mother up.
Eventually, she had surrendered and had let her mother sleep, enjoying watching her peaceful face during hours. It had been much more complicated for Ah Si and Shancai. The Daoming heir had recovered fast ("Of course, he's recovering like a dog!" had laughed the F4, remembering what Shancai once said to DaomingSi). But the young Dong girl had had more difficulties to recover.
Daoming Si's hunger strike had been longer than hers, he had been dehydrated and starved but he had done this rebellion in his bedroom's comfort. It had not been the same for Shancai. She had stayed night and day outside, standing under the rain. Miraculously, she had succeeded and persisted all this time. When she had been freed, she had collapsed in DaomingSi's arms and had stayed in coma for many days. She had anemia, was dehydrated and doctors discovered a beginning of pneumonia.
Her friends and her family were really concerned.
A long time had passed for Daoming Feng to wake and DaomingSi had left the hospital but Shancai remained. Everybody took turns in watching and staying at her bedside. Xiaoyou talked to her for hours about tearoom Talent's, about her stories with her boyfriend Ximen. She spoke joyfully and tried with difficulties to make her smile. Xiaozi told her many jokes to try to make her laugh and to made her forget she had almost taken her place and had almost been married to DaomingSi. HuazeLei wanted to play her some violin but he was reprimanded by nurses so he just read her some books. Meizuo and Ximen visited her together some time to time and acted like fools to amuse her. They showed talent imitating Ah Si's mother. Qinghe and LiZhen visited often to give her some homework and notes and to tell her the latest of Mingde's gossips.
Even Daoming Feng visited her remorsefully from time to time, staying at her bedside, trying clumsily to speak to Shancai as polite as possible. One day, she had run into the young woman's parents who succeeded in leaving their fishers' village for a few days, and the meeting was tense. Fortunately, they were all aware about the agreement they just made and that it was time to think about the future so everyone made some effort to lighten atmosphere.
