Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Jolting out of sleep, I blindly reached for my phone and stop the alarm. I blinked blearily at the device, and read the time.

6:15

I sigh and sit up, stretching my arms with a quiet yawn.

Sliding out of bed, I head to the kitchen for breakfast. I pass the coat rack and notice the lack of my mom's jacket. I guess she's working overtime again.

Lately, it's like she's never home but I don't blame her. As a nurse, she has a ton of responsibility to help others. I just miss having her around.

After a simple bowl of cereal, I take a quick shower before I'm heading out the door to get to school.

Walking down the sidewalk, I keep my head down and check my phone every now and then to make sure I won't be late. At this rate, I'll get to class 15 minutes early.

I slow down when I hear a crowd up ahead. Gazing down the street, I see a large shark like villain. Part of me wants to stay and watch the heroes at work but my fear of being late overpowers the excitement.

I pull out my phone and find a detour around the fight. With my eyes to the ground, I continue my walk to school.

Arriving to class, I make my way to my seat quietly. The day passes rather quickly and soon enough the bell rings to signal the end of the day. My classmates dash out the door while I take my time putting my stuff away before standing. Before I reach the door, my name is called.

"[L/n], can I see you for a second?"

Despite a flash of panic, I nod and approach my teacher's desk. She flips through a few papers as she begins.

"I see you've decided to apply for UA. Not many students are applying there from our school this year. There's only two others, barring yourself. They're in one of the other classes but you'll probably run into them at the exam."

She grinned at me, "I'm sure you'll get in, [L/n]. I just wanted to warn you. I hear one of the others are very competitive so watch out for him."

My eyes flickered to her's before dropping back to the floor. "T-thank you," I stammered.

"Alright, have a good day [L/n]," she beamed. I gave a small wave as I left the room.

I opted to take the long way home so I could stop by my favorite cafe to get a [f/d].

The manager greeted me when I walked in, "Hey, [Y/n]! Just the usual?"

I smiled softly and nodded, handing her the total. I checked my phone while waiting for my order and thanked the manager when it was done.

Exiting the cafe, I continued my way home until I saw a second crowd of people today. While the idea of being close to so many strangers made my stomach churn, I decided to check it out. What I saw hit me like a punch to the stomach, the air leaving me.

A strange ooze villain had a student hostage. The kid's explosion quirk was impressive but it wasn't helping the situation at all. There were fires surrounding the two and it was obvious the student was fighting a losing battle.

I looked desperately to the heroes on scene but anyone could tell none of them were fit to take down the villain. Suddenly, another kid dashed past the heroes and threw his bag in an attempt to save the other.

I felt a shock of adrenaline and popped over to them before I could even comprehend what I was doing.

I could hear the cries of the crowd and the heroes to get back but it was too late. The green haired kid had started trying to pull the slime off the angry blonde and I struggled to find a way to help. If I pop away with them would the villain come too? Only one way to find out.

A shadow fell over us right as I grabbed the other two students. "I should practice what I preach," was all I heard before I popped us farther down the alley with a clipped, "Hang on!"

We reappeared next to the heroes at the mouth of the alleyway. The other two boys stumbled, looking around confused at the change in scenery.

I turned my gaze to where the villain had been and was shocked to see All Might standing victoriously. I watched in awe as the weather shifted and it began to rain. He changed the weather with a single punch?

I was startled out of my thoughts as the blonde suddenly turned to me fuming. "I DIDN'T NEED YOUR HELP, YOU FUCKIN EXTRA-"

He was interrupted as a hero approached us. "Those are really useful quirks you two have," he began to talk about how we could be great heroes. I thanked him quietly and looked over to see the other boy being berated for his actions.

As a news crew wandered over to the blonde, I approached the other kid. "Y-you're okay right?"

He looked over to me, surprised, before smiling. "Yeah, I'm fine. You have a really cool quirk by the way! My name's Izuku Midoriya," he rubbed his neck nervously.

"[Y/n] [L/n]," I replied softly.

Eventually, I managed to get home without an interview. I noticed my mom was home but she was probably asleep after that long shift. I made my way to my room, collapsing on the bed and let out a drawn out sigh.

As I thought back over the events of today, I felt a warm glow in my chest. I'm really happy that I was able to help. With a content smile on my face, I drifted into sleep.
