I'm walking back to U.A. after visiting with my mom when someone snatches my arm, yanking me into an alleyway. I'm shoved roughly against the wall. Glancing up, I see three older Yuuei students standing around me and fear coils in my chest. I could easily escape but...
"...c-can I h-help yo-you...?" My voice wavers quietly but I can help, I'd like to do what I can.
The tallest one grins. "Yeah. How about you start by using your fancy little quirk to get us somewhere?"
I'm confused for a moment. "U-um... my quirk?"
"Yeah, you're the little teleporting kid. I remember you from the sports festival. Rumor has it, you can teleport anywhere and we have somewhere we need to be."
I drop my gaze. "An-anywhere I c-can see or rem-remember seeing."
One of them grips the collar of my shirt, yanking me forward. "Whatever. Here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna take us-"
He's interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
"What's going on here?"
I'm surprised to see the burned man from the store standing at the mouth of the alley. He's got his hood up and a mask on like before, hiding his face.
The older student glares at him. "Mind your own business. We're just getting a favor from a friend."
"Doesn't fucking look like it. Leave the damn kid alone."
I'm dropped suddenly as they turn to address him. "Or what?"
"Or I'll make you." He steps forward intimidatingly, raising a hand.
I pop in between them before it can escalate any further. "W-wait! This doesn't have to b-be a fight."
If I could see the man's face, I imagine it would be dumbfounded. "They literally are trying to force you to use your quirk for their own gain."
"...nobody deserves to get- to get hurt. Not even them. Sometimes good people do bad things but it doesn't make them deserving of p-pain."
The man watches me for a moment before lowering his hand. He glares at the older students, snarling.
"You're fucking lucky this kid has a heart. Get the hell outta here."
They take off, probably deciding it isn't worth the effort. I turn back to the scarred man.
"Th-thank you... for stopping them."
"It was whatever. Just doing something good for once, I guess."
It's silent for a beat before he speaks up again, looking away almost self consciously.
"How do you do that?"
I glance up, surprised. "D-do what?"
"See all the good in people. In everyone you run across."
I smile softly, trying to meet his eyes. I faintly note they're a bright blue.
"I just- I think in the end...we're all people. We all just w-want to be loved and everyone's deserving of that."
He sighs quietly before whispering. "God, you're just so fucking good."
I smile again and drop my gaze nervously. "Would it be okay if I... if I ask w-what your name is? It's fine i-if you aren't comfortable, I'd understa-"
He cuts me off, voice almost gentle. "You can call me Touya. But keep it to yourself, yeah?"
"Touya." I echo quietly, testing the name out before smiling softly. "Thank you, Touya..."
He turns to leave, shaking off his vulnerability and waving over his shoulder. "No problem, kid. Now get back to your school before those dickwads come back."

I'm afraid to admit I'm a supporter of the Dabi is a Todoroki theory...Feel free to ignore these chapters if you aren't a fan of them.
They likely won't affect the plot and will only be referenced in other filler chapters. Also, just to be clear, reader
is oblivious to the fact it's Dabi.
I'm sorry I don't make the rules (or do i?)Thank you for reading!
