At night fall, Asriel leaves Amber's house, even after her pleads for him to stay for dinner. The problem was, he had promised Toriel he would be back home before dinner but he was late. Very late. The air was chilly with a soft breeze along with the coldness but it still felt pretty nice even at that hour. He was pretty much running that this point through out the street. Surprisingly, there weren't many people outside at that time, despite the good weather without any rain and clear skies. It was 8:30PM when he arrived at his street. The whole path was dark, empty and it got colder. The only light illuminating the way was from the lamp posts and even with those, the prince had a hard time to see anything at all

"At least in the underground, I was able see what was in front of me even when it was dark..." He would told himself every time. He found his home (thank god) and walked in. Everyone, including Undyne were waiting for him. Sans and Papyrus were not there, however

Undyne seemed to frown when he walked into the kitchen and immediately spats at the prince

"Took you long enough. Where the hell have you been?!"

Asriel sighed and sat at the table

"I didn't see the time go by, give me a break!", he said while Toriel served everyone with a surprisingly still hot chicken stew

"I AM HUNGRY, horn head!" She roars while throwing her arms up furiously

"OK calm down! Don't need to yell" He exclaimed, scratching one ear with a finger

The dinner was mostly silent, until Asriel broke the silence with the day he's had. Everyone, including Frisk and Asgore talked about their day. As usual, Frisk would only say
"Boring, boring then cool"

"But it's always like that to you" The prince points out, to which the human teen just shrugged with
"Politics and school don't mix well. Only cool part is when I get home and play Sploon or Courtyard-Strike. " He says.

"But you didn't have school today"
"Yeah, but it's boring to go and discuss politics all afternoon and then being asked to say something about it. A bummer"
"And what is the other boring part?"

The teen would think for a while and reply
"Getting out of bed early"

After dinner, Undyne went to sleep because she was, according to her, tired as a dead whale. The prince didn't really had much to say about it and went to his room. There he sat at his desk, turning on the lamp and leaned back on his chair. He opened a drawer and pulled out a small notebook and an old feather and an ink well. He really liked to write with those things, as he used to do back in the day when he was a kid.

He opened the notebook and flipped through the pages he had written so far. It was like his own journal and he had recorded everything in there, just in case he might forget something.

He started by writing down what had happened in the morning, their little reunion with Alphys, the great day he had with Amber and then dinner. It was like he was writing a story of his life. Quite ironic in fact... But he then wrote something else. Something he was thinking about at the moment. The pendant he saw at Alphys' lab. A very beautiful one. It matched Amber's hair colour. He wrote he would ask Alphys what that was about later the next time he was at her lab. He closed the notebook and sighed.

Despite the great day he had, he was still trying to put everything together from what information he got from Alphys at her lab meeting. Humans performing magic? Not a natural thing for them? Sure, Frisk was able to use their power before but why not in the surface now? Even he himself felt different once on the Surface. He felt like he was part of the world for real, not just some fantasy lying around. It was as if he had joined in into a new plane of existance. It was like-

A knock on his bedroom door was heard. The prince halted his thoughts and put the notebook and everything else in the drawer and closed it
"Come in!" He said and the door opened to reveal Frisk from behind it
"Hey Az" Frisk said, walking in. They seemed pretty bored out of their life. They had a small box with them as they stepped into the Prince's room

"What's up, bro?" Asriel greeted with a smile. He turned around on his chair to see the young man
"Nothing much. Though I am bored. Wanna play a game?" They asked with a smile. The goatman just nodded, walking up to his own bed and sitting on it comfortably so. Frisk sat on his bed as well openning the box they had brought. They wanted to play chess.
