Ara's head was tilted back, her pink lips in a pout, brows frowned, and her doe eyes looking larger than ever. She mimicked the expression of a five year old girl looking up at her mommy after she had told her she couldn't buy the pink pony from the toy store.

"Last night's Sports Car Race was the first official race of the season. The race was a major success for Dragon Racers Autosport as their member, Park Jimin, took first place by fourty-seven seconds." The news reporter announced. Ara scrunched her nose, her lips twitching at the mention of Park Jimin.

"Light Speed Motorsport also had a great success as Jeon Jungkook took second. However, their greatest success came from their newest racer, AJ, when he placed third." The man on the T.V screen said. "This is the first time in a very long time that a rookie driver has ever placed top three in the highest ranking division. Like I said, major success for third place winner, AJ."

Ara's mouth fell open, her eyes narrowing at the T.V screen above her. "Are you mocking me? You call that a success?" She argued with the unresponsive T.V screen. She pouted, huffing out an annoyed breath.

An old lady passing beside Ara eyed her strangely, clutching her box of cookies close to her chest, wondering why the young girl was shouting at the T.V screen in the middle of the convenience store.

Ara grinned at the woman, her cheeks turning pink in embarrassment. The older woman hurried off, turning at the corner of the isle after giving her one last glance.

"I should have placed first." Ara mumbled to herself, turning on her heel and reading the labels on the noodles. "Stupid Park Jimin."

She stood in front of the noodle shelf, blankly staring at the variety of noodles while her mind was flooded with last night's race.

I could have at least taken second place if not Park Jimin and his stupid blocking and terrible drift.

"Excuse me, you're-"

She interrupted the stranger who had so rudely interrupted her thoughts, not bothering to spare him a glance. "What?" She asked bluntly, closing her eyes in annoyance.

"You're blocking the noodles." The man said after clearing his throat.

Ara opened her eyes, widening them in embarrassment as her cheeks burned. "Oh." She bit her lip, feeling sorry for speaking at the boy so rudely.

She turned on her heel and left the isle, never apologizing to the boy- much less sparing him a glance.

Ara let her legs guide her through the convenience story, her mind absent from her body. All she could think about was her failure to place first or second.
