Fourth Prince Rong Yingming can feel that this maidservant standing before him is not going to give in easily. If he forces her then it will offend General Hai Bojing and his wife. A soft voice suddenly speaks from behind her, "Huian greets His Royal Highness."
General Hai Bojing is holding onto Jia Huian's hand as the pair walk together, side by side with three maidservants walking behind them. Upon seeing their arrival, Chunhua immediately walks towards the pair before she takes her designated place next to Chuntao. When both husband and wife sit next to each other, the four maidservants stand behind them. Another maidservant shows up with refreshments before she quietly leaves the receiving hall soon after she serves the tea and desserts.
General Hai Bojing turns his attention to Fourth Prince Rong Yingming and says, "Your Royal Highness, didn't this general remind you not to be forceful. To barge into my wife's courtyard without any invitation is unbecoming and will start ugly rumours."
The Fourth Prince chuckles and says, "Bojing, calm yourself down. I'm here because of Chunhua. Furen, this prince hope that she will not be offended by this."
Jia Huian smiles and says, "Your Royal Highness, Chunhua is indeed one of my dowry maids but she has been with me for more than 10 years now. All four of them are like my own sisters. When it comes to their marriage, Huian wants nothing but the best for each of them. But... A marriage to an imperial family member is a bit..."
Fourth Prince Rong Yingming then says, "This prince is serious but it seems that Chunhua is against this."
Jia Huian looks at General Hai Bojing as she smiles, "Your Royal Highness, both of you have just met earlier today. What is the rush for a marriage?"
"Nonsense! Bojing is married practically to a stranger as well. Look at his annoying face. Three days of marriage have done him good."
General Hai Bojing glares at the Fourth Prince as he grips on Jia Huian's hand even more tightly, "Your Royal Highness, this general is indeed blessed so he decided to be sincere to his wife."
"This prince wanted to be sincere to Chunhua too!"
Chunhua bows her head and tries her best to stay silent. Jia Huian noticed her silence and smiles.
"Your Royal Highness, in order for you to be married, an imperial edict is a must. But, Huian still wishes for Chunhua to choose her own husband. Huian has not been given a chance to choose her own happiness so she sincerely wishes for her yatou to have freedom of choice."
Upon hearing what she has just said, General Hai Bojing is no longer smiling. So, just like himself, she too felt that the imperial edict is a burden. Does that mean that she did not feel anything for him? Fourth Prince Rong Yingming noticed his change of mood so he pretended to sips on his tea.
Jia Huian then continues, "But, this humble one is blessed. Turns out that the general is the one for her. Huian is more than willing to live her life as the general's wife."
General Hai Bojing suddenly beams with happiness and further adds, "Bojing is blessed to have Huian as his beloved wife as well."
The Fourth Prince seeing the annoying pair then says, "That's it! This prince will demand an imperial edict regarding his marriage!"
Chunhua panic and loudly says, "No!!! Furen, please... Chunhua still wanted to serve you. Please do not let His Royal Highness separate us."
Jia Huian turns her head and softly says, "Chunhua, your marriage will only happen if that is what you want. I will not force you. Nor will the general. Or, His Royal Highness."
Seeing how nervous his wife's maidservant, General Hai Bojing intervenes.
"Your Royal Highness, let it comes naturally. She seems to be somewhat terrified with your approach. Calm yourself... First, do let His Majesty and Her Majesty of your intention. You wanted a blessed union, not a scorned one. Secondly, get to know her first. Isn't that right Huian?"
Jia Huian nods her head in agreement with her husband's words.
Fourth Prince Rong Yingming smirks and says, "Fine... Chunhua, please do not be scared. Forgive this prince for being such a pushy. We have all the time in the world to get to know with each other. I will not force you to marry me."
Chunhua did not say anything nor did she looks back at the Fourth Prince. She only prays that he will soon leave the Hai Residence. Seeing him only makes her feel bad.
