Within Hai Residence, it has been confirmed that General Hai Bojing truly loves his newly married and now pregnant wife, Jia Huian.
Upon knowing that Jia Huian is pregnant, he has moved into her courtyard with immediate effect. Jia Huian only smiles as she watches the servants continuously enter her room each with the General's belongings. But, it is a different case for her 4 maidservants who stand and watch with a glimpse of worry in their eyes.
Jia Huian notices their obvious discomfort and says, "From these days onwards, there is no need for one of you to keep a night watch with the General being here. Only comes when you are called."
The four of them sigh at the same time. They are happy that their mistress is blessed with a happy and loving marriage but, in honest truth, they are a bit wary whenever the General is around.
"Chunhua... Come sit next to me. Did the Fourth Prince do anything to you?"
All four pair of eyes are watching her. She furiously blushes under their scrutinizing stares. She bows her head slightly to prevent them from seeing her blushed cheeks. But, Jia Huian who is lying on the bed with her back leans against the pillows, saw her cheeks.
"Chunhua... I am happy that you have found someone that you like. His Royal Highness is being that obvious that he likes you as well."
Chuntao, Dongmei, and Jinghua chuckle as they stand there. Jia Huian laughs too.
"Chunhua, I will make sure to ask the General to assist you in your marriage matters. After all, the other side is a member of the imperial family. On second thought, I will ask father to assist as well."
Chunhua immediately kneels next to Jia Huian's bed, "Furen... This servant feels unworthy. I am just a mere maidservant."
Jia Huian touches on Chunhua's cheek and says, "Nonsense... If he likes you the way you are, your status and rank do not matter. If it is still a problem by then, I will make sure that the Jia family will help you."
"What are you girls doing? Huian, mother said that you should just take a rest. She has sent someone to go to the Jia Residence to tell them about the happy news."
General Hai Bojing enters the room and stops in front of the door just to see a kneeling Chunhua as the other maidservants stand next to the bed. He seems to be smiling but that still did not make any of the maidservants feel at ease.
"Bojing... Is the Fourth Prince is serious about Chunhua? I am a bit worried..."
General Hai Bojing walks towards her bed with a confident stride before sitting next to her. He looks at Chunhua and says, "Chunhua, you may rise. When it comes to that old... I mean... The Fourth Prince is definitely famous for his so-called antics but, His Royal Highness is a good man. He does not have any concubines nor any mistresses. He never shows any interest whatsoever to any female. He might look like a lecher but he is far from it. Just like His Majesty, His Royal Highness is one with playful nature."
Jia Huian smiles and says, "Chunhua, you can take it easy now. All of you are dismissed. Chunhua, the next time that His Royal Highness is here, you shall not show yourself to him. The three of you shall keep a watch too."
General Hai Bojing nods his head and further says, "He will not come for the time being. His Majesty knows and I'm sure that he wanted to be the matchmaker once more."
"We are married because of His Majesty's imperial edict. General Hai is not keen to marry this Eldest Miss Jia in the beginning. Father is not happy too. In fact, he is sorry and feels guilty for unable to stop the impending marriage."
General Hai Bojing takes a deep breath and says, "I honestly thought that we are not suitable due to the fact that father-in-law and I are always against each other in every time we've met."
Jia Huian look at his troubled face and asks, "What makes you changed your mind? You're supposed to be somewhere else now. Why are you still here?"
"Huian, I've heard what you've said to your maidservants... Even then, it seems that you already know that you might be pregnant. You even pleaded them to take care of our child if anything happened to you. Did I am not trustworthy to you?"
General Hai Bojing holds onto both of her hands as he stares into her eyes. She then looks away as she softly sighs.
"Bojing, we are married because of an imperial edict. I accepted it as if I'm fated to be your wife. I have to because I cannot harm the Jia's reputation. You are a good man, Bojing. A good and responsible man of honour. It is just that... At times... You appeared to be unfeeling. I will try my best to understand you but, in front of our child, be a bit warmer..."
General Hai Bojing chuckles and says, "But this husband has been nothing but 'warm' to his beloved wife."
Jia Huian blushes and gently pushes him away from her, "I did not mean it that way..."
"I know... I will be a good father. And, I will be the best husband for you. Take a good rest. The Imperial Doctor told me that I am not supposed to 'touch' for three months. So, this husband will be in the next room to read on military reports to calm himself down."
Jia Huian laughs and hugs General Hai Bojing. General Hai Bojing returns her hug and gently kisses on her forehead.
"Bojing, thank you."
He gently strokes her back and asks, "For what?"
"For choosing not to leave today."
General Hai Bojing slightly pushes her away and says, "Forgive me for even thinking about it. I should be here with you. My Vice General will be doing just fine without me being there."
Jia Huian grabs onto his collar and pulls him towards her, she then gently kisses on his lips.
"Huian, your husband is just a weak human being. Do not tempt me..."
