Chapter 16: Bus Ride

Lucy's P.O.V

Natsu and I stand around talking and talking and laughing until people finally start to arrive. "Oh my gosh, lu?" Levy runs up to us "You guys are actually here early! I kinda thought you guys would miss the bus."

"Yeah, Natsu here came to my house at 4, woke me up and told me it was 5:15." I say still just a little annoyed. "Hey, don't get mad at me for knowing you. It's not my fault you fell asleep forgot to pack and the actually forgot about the trip entirely." Natsu says.

"whatever" I mumble and Levy and Natsu chuckle. "Hey guys!" Mira, Lisanna and Elfman walk up to us. "Hey, you guys are here early" Lisanna says looking at Natsu and I. "That's what I said!" Levy exclaims.

"Oh hey, I got you guys something." Mira says reaching into her bag. "You got us something?" I say. Why would she get us something? She pulls out a small sign and hands it to me. It was a one of those things that you put outside your door and it said 'Do Not Disturb'

I could feel my cheeks getting hot and hand it back to her "We don't need that!" I say. "Oh so you already brought yor own!" She said excitedly. "No, we have no use for it!" I say. "What is it?" Natsu asks.

Mira hands it to him and he reads it. He hands it back to her but she shoves it back into his hands "Keep it just in case. Please?" Mira asks sticking her bottom lip out. "Would you be offended if I burn it?" Natsu asks.

"Yes!" She says snatching it back from him and I chuckle. "I think I see Evergreen over there Elfman, do you wanna go talk to her?" Lisanna says looking back to where Elfman was. My guess is he was hiding from Natsu.

"Do you wanna take the sign?" Mira asks. "No way, signs aren't MANLY enough." Elfman says as he walks away to go see Evergreen.

The teacher gets on a megaphone "ALRIGHT CLASS WE'RE GOING TO GET ON THE BUS NOW SO MOVE IT OR WE'RE LEAVING YOU BEHIND!" She screams.

Natsu and I get on the bus and he looks nervous for some reason. We sit down and he starts sweating. "Hey Natsu are you ok?" I ask. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine." He says and he starts fidgiting with his fingers.

"Are you sure?" I ask. "Yeah, I just have motion sickness." He says. "Oh, motion sickness? Don't they make pills for that, why don't you het those?" I suggest but that seems to make him feel worse."What? What did I say?" I ask.

"Lucy, I can barely afford to pay for Wendy to go to school. Do you realize how expensive those pills are to me? I can't just throw money away like that. In case you were wondering, and I'm sure you were, that's why I wasn't in the hospital for more than a day. I couldn't afford the treatment." He says looking out the window.

I forgot he pays for everything with his job, which I actually don't know what that is. Wait, he couldn't pay for treatment for getting shot?! That's horrible. I may live alone, but my father still pays for my school, bills, and food so I don't know what's that like, plus he has to pay for Wendy too.

I notice that the bus started moving and I looked over at Natsu. He looked miserable, he barely looked conscious. He leaned his head on my shoulder unconsciously I think because he jolted back up "sorry" He said and I was barely able to understand him.

"It's ok, I don't mind if it makes you feel better." I say. "Really? Are you sure?" He asks. "Yeah, go ahead." I say and he leans his head back down. About five minutes later he was sound asleep. I played with his hair, it was so soft.

<><><>3 Hours Later<><><>

Natsu woke up an hour ago and was just sitting there miserable for 2 hours. The bus slowly stopped and Natsu immediately perked up. The teacher gets back on the megaphone

"ALRIGHT WE'RE HERE SO JUST GET OFF AND GO TO THE HOTEL. WE ARE GOING TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS IN THEIR ROOMS AT 10:30 SO YOU BETTER BE THERE. NOW JUST GET OFF SO I CAN LEAVE!"

The students rushed off and Natsu was the last one to slowly trudge off the bus. I tapped his shoulder "Wanna go check into our hotel room and we'll decide what to do after that?" I suggest. "Yeah, sure." He says.

We walk to the hotel and get our room key. We're only allowed to have one key because 'you have to stay with your partner at all times'.

We open the door and walk in. It was the biggest hotel room I have ever seen, with different rooms and a kitchen and everything, it's nice. It's probably bigger than Natsu's house actually. We walk into the bedroom and luckily it had two beds.

We settle in, putting clothes into drawers and food into the cabinets. According to the teacher we were going to be there all week so I don't mind getting comfortable. We finish unpacking around 10:15.

"I'll go make us dinner." Natsu says heading for the kitchen. I sit down on the couch and turn on the tv. "It's Ready!" Natsu yells from the kitchen and I come running in. He made spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread on the side.

Right as I sit down there was a knock on the door. "Ugh, it must be 10:30." I groan. "Yeah, let's go." He says and we both stand up and walk to the door, Natsu opens it. "Natsu and Lucy?" The teacher asks herself "Check and check. Continue with your night." She says and then she closes the door.

We go back to the kitchen and sit down. "Yaasss, food!" I say and dig in. Natsu chuckles then starts eating too. Natsu finishes eating in like 5 minutes, seriously he's superhuman. He walks out of the kitchen and goes somewhere but I'm not paying attention because I'm eating and food always comes first.

I finally finish eating and wash our plates since they were the only ones we brought for some reason. I walk out of the kitchen and into the bedroom to find Natsu passed out on his bed. I walk into the bathroom and change just in case he wakes up.

I walk back into the bedroom and jump on my bed. I take out my computer and continue writing my book. After a few hours I put my laptop away and head to sleep.
