The little blond guy smiles at you.
"Hey," he says, "did you summon me by accident or--"
"Summon you?"
"I'm Meliodas. I'll be on my way if you didn't summon me."
"Wait. Are you the demon Meliodas or the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins Meliodas?"
He chuckles, "I'm both. Why do you ask?"
"How much do you know about demon laws?"
"Why? Did you break one?" he teases.
"That's what Zeldris and I are trying to figure out."
Across the room, your phone buzzes. You step out of the salt circle.
You're pretty sure Meliodas won't hurt you.
After all, Meliodas is supposed to be one of the good guys, right?
"Sorry, just a sec," you say.
Your friend Lizzy is calling you.
For the tenth time.
She must be worried sick.
You answer the phone.
"Thank god, y/n, are you okay?"
"I'm... it's been a weird couple of days."
"Weird how?"
"Ex weird, magic weird, Ouija board weird, you name it it's happened."
"Ex weird?"
"The condensed version of it is that Hunter summoned a demon to help him track me down."
"WHAT?"
"Yeah... I'm okay, though. I'm safe now."
"I'm going to kill Hunter when I see him."
"I... don't think that will be an issue."
"Y/n his bullshit has gone too far."
"I know. What I mean is... Hunter's dead."
"...Do you need help hiding the body?"
"It's taken care of. You're a good friend for asking, though."
"I'm coming over. Is the demon still there?"
"He had some stuff to take care of. A different one's here right now."
"Keep him there. I have a few questions I'd like to ask him... Do you want me to bring food?"
"Oh, you don't have to--"
"Pizza it is."
Knowing there's no way to stop her from coming over once she's made up her mind, you smile a little.
"See you soon," you say.
Lizzy hangs up and you turn back to Meliodas.
"Do you want the long story or a condensed version?" you ask.
