Realization
None of us bring up about Eve. Although Troi already explained about what happened to his patient that caused him to come back late, hindi naman niya ipinaliwanag kung ano ang sa tingin niya ay sadya ng best friend niya rito.
Hindi ko alam kung maayos ba ang pagkakaibigan nila dahil base sa paraan nang pagpapaalis ni Troi kay Eve kanina ay hindi gawain ng isang kaibigan. And he warned me not to trust anyone even Eve. Binalaan niya akong huwag maniwala sa kung ano man ang sasabihin ni Eve.

Humarap ako sa kaniya. Nakasandal siya sa headboard ng kama habang nasa pagitan ako ng hita niya.
"M-may problema ba kayo ni Eve?" pagtatanong ko.
He closed his eyes for a bit before he answered.
"We're fine. She probably want someone to talk to about her issues with her father."
Kaswal ang paraan ng naging pagsagot niya. He even tilted his head and shrugged.
Nangunot ang noo ko. Eve's father?
"Ano bang mayroon sa Papa niya?"
Troi took my hand and played with my fingers. Kita ko sa mukha niya na ayaw niya sana iyong pag-usapan pero wala siyang choice dahil nagtanong na ako.
"She wasn't accepted by his father. Eve's mother is nowhere to be found. She's a neglected child. I'm the only one she can talk to about that..."
Humugot siya nang malalim na hininga. Hindi ko alam ang isasagot ko. Somehow, I sympathize with her. Hindi biro kung totoong ganoon nga ang pinagdaraanan niya. Although, lumaki din naman akong walang magulang. I achieved everything by myself.
Miminsan lang ako dalawin ng tiyahin kong nasa probinsya. Minsan lang din makakahingi ng tulong doon kaya ako talaga ang nagtaguyod sa sarili ko. I wasn't neglected. Hindi ko lang nakilala ang mga magulang ko dahil maaga silang nasawi.
I wonder if being an orphan is way better than being a neglected child.
"She did her best for her father's acceptance but whatever she do, it wasn't enough to fix their relationship," pagpapatuloy niya.
Suminghot ako at napatango. Indeed, everyone has their own tragedy. Hindi lang talaga makikita ng iba iyon dahil somehow, we are busy fighting our own battles.
Tumikhim ako. Troi's eyes found mine when he looked up.
"That's why you shouldn't believe anything she'll say. Her mentality isn't stable. You shouldn't befriend someone like her. You have your own issues."
