Chapter 42 - "...I want my normal, un-glowing, none Rune covered hand back!
"Knock, knock?"
I glance up from where I'm sprawled across the floor, a pencil clenched between my teeth. "Come on in Rhiannon" her familiar scent slips up my nose, her steady heartbeat sounding as I wince at the creak of the door. "So, your abilities have stopped fluctuating" I raise an eyebrow at her outfit of choice today; a pair of soft yellow boots, a thigh length blue dress that swirls freely around her pale legs, a pale-yellow floral design curling up the side of it and to top the whole thing off a golden floral headband shimmering in the mass of untamed raven coloured hair.
Sitting up I carefully place my pencil down "you came" I slowly study her as she moves towards my desk, quickly making herself at home in my chair. The same chair I'd only just about managed to stop Archer living in after telling in a purely loving manner that he stinks, he's pissing me off and he needs to go and get a good night's sleep in his own bed. Damn boy wouldn't leave me alone, apparently didn't leave my side for the four days I was unconscious. My stomach flip flops and I feel a steady blush forming on my cheeks, but I shove it down in embarrassment. No way am I feel anything for that boy.
His sole mission in life is to piss me off.
He did that to wind me up about the whole Batman thing. I wince at the thought of Batman, mourning the loss as the realisation I'd never be able to watch or read the comics every again washes through me.
"I didn't think you were going to, especially since everyone else has visited but you." of course Archer didn't leave or allow visitors until I was forced to sweetly threaten him that I was not opposed to getting out bed and tearing off his precious family jewels if he continued to refuse to let anyone near me. I'm pretty sure his wolf was more in control of that response than his human side but never the less the threat was made. Obviously, he made the right decision although I did notice he seemed to cover that area of him whenever he was sat near me.
Huh, who'd have thought I'd make the big bad Alpha nervous? I suppose I have broken his nose twice now.
Rhiannon's gaze is guarded as she shrugs "well, your text didn't sound that urgent and I had a job ditching my bodyguards" Her gaze darkens, and she says the words bodyguards with a venomous tone.
"Bodyguards?"
She waves a dismissive hand "a conversation for another time. I see they've kept you under house arrest since your reaction to stopping the tablets." "You knew?! You knew that was going to happen?! Why the hell didn't you warn me?!" I lean my back against the bed behind me, peeved she didn't even think to warn me. She shrugs indifferently "you wouldn't have stopped taking them if I had. You know why they've kept you away from school right?" I raise an eyebrow before saying "I assume they want to slowly introduce me to the Pack Mind-link?" I snort "that's obvious from the constant messages everyone seems to be trying to send me." I shake my head "I'm sure Luke was trying to gauge a reaction from me when he screamed my name through the Mind-Link."
"They're trying to slowly introduce it to you, so you don't freak out" I fight the urge to snort, and Luke's voice screaming my name in my head wouldn't have shocked me?
With a grimace I tuck my legs under me "they've been making it worse, I can't get your sodding Pack Link out of my head. Night times worst; when they're all on patrol, it's like there's no God damned filter."
Rhiannon's face instantly pales "wait, you can hear patrol? You mean the Pack House Guards?" I laugh bitterly "the Pack House Guards, the Town Guards, the Town over and so on and even the Guards on the Blackthorn border, I can just about make out their link."
