"Hey." Tom approached the woman who was sitting alone at the edge of a table, writing down random ideas in her UCLA notebook. "Want some company?"

"Of course!" Phoenix smiled before closing her notebook and placing it on her lap.

Ever since the game night at RDJ's rented mansion a couple of weeks ago, Phoenix had been in a much happier mental space. She and Tom had been consistently hanging out during breaks and the other cast members in attendance of the game night were going out of their way to say hello and speak to her.

Anthony in particular noticed the effort Phoenix made in order to try to build personal relationships with some of the cast, per his suggestion, and tried to incorporate her into more scenes. She wasn't doing much but observing, asking questions, and taking notes but that experience from such talented directors was invaluable. Plus, it was much better than spending 10 hours a day running errands, which is how she spent the majority of her first 6 weeks.

"Did you bring my pop tart, Thomas?"

"Did you bring my Oreos, Genevieve?" Tom mocked.

Phoenix reached into her backpack at the same time Tom reached into his pocket, not once breaking eye contact with one another.

"3..." She started.

"2..." Tom followed.

"1!" They spoke simultaneously while slamming their respective snacks on the table.

"Nice doing business with you, Phoenix." Tom smiled before taking his bag of mini Oreos off the table.

"The pleasure was all mine, Tom." Phoenix responded as she grabbed her cinnamon roll flavored pop tart. "How did you even fit this in your pocket?!"

"I like to have large pockets."

"I was going to ask to join you but now I'm afraid I won't be welcomed since I didn't bring a snack to trade." Chris Evans joked.

"Hmm, we'll give you a pass this time but you owe us a bag of Doritos." Phoenix decided as Chris took a seat in the empty chair that was next to her.

"Nacho cheese or cool ranch?"

"Cool ranch." Tom answered almost immediately.

"Without a doubt, cool ranch for sure." Phoenix agreed.

Chris looked over at Phoenix with a smile. He allowed himself to admire her beauty as she and Tom began a new conversation. Since she hadn't said one word to him for the first 6 weeks of shooting, all he had to go by was her unseen aura as she was always running around set. However after the game night RDJ hosted, she was now in his sight line. From that night on, Chris spent a week observing her behavior. He watched when she spoke with Joe and Anthony, jotting down notes in a UCLA notebook. He watched her interactions with Tom and how much they laughed and smiled together. And he watched her encounters with the other members of the cast and crew.

He didn't know what exactly it was but there was something about her that just made him want to be near. She exuded confidence, drive, independence, and a strong desire to be the best at everything she did. The fact that Chris had heard nothing but good things in reference to her character and work ethic from the Russo brothers as well as the crew made him respect her even more than he already did. It was safe to say that he liked what he saw.

"What do you want, Evans?" Tom asked which broke Chris out of his trance. He had noticed Chris staring at Phoenix and wondered if she felt his gaze on the side of her face. He came to the conclusion that she either didn't mind it or she simply didn't notice.

"Huh?"

"Sour patch kids for Phoenix, sour skittles for me, and what for you?"

"Uhh-" Chris stopped to think. "Surprise me."
